@pappy did you still have the waypoint saved? Any ideas for Friday if you don't?
I can't find my track from that adventure. As far as other idea, yes. Off of NM24, just south of Rio Penasco Rd (NM130) is Bear Canyon Rd. iOverlander suggests there is camping up that road, and it's not far from Weed. iOverland give the coords of one spot at 32.84811, -105.54637.

I think a saws-all will make that truck trail ready in no time! (as long as the rear wheel and axle aren't damaged)

Big bummer, sorry this happened to you guys!....but I see potential to upgrade the rear bumper.
Rear axle is crooked and the drivers rear tire took a pretty good hit. It actually looks like the front passenger side of the bed tore at the seam. I’m starting to wonder if it will be totaled?

Hey Pappy, Ash and I tried to find the waypoint from last time. We don't think we created one. We think that Ash found a place once he got down there and then pinged us with directions. Your plan looks good to me.

BTW, if you remembers, drop waypoints along the way so we have a record for next time.

Thanks.

I will be recording the track on both my Garmin. 67i and my Overlander.

Dang, that’s terrible 😞

Ill be in the Cloudcroft area Saturday night. Depending how far the group has traveled up north I would like to meet up for the night... Any idea where the group will be Saturday night?

There will not be a daily itinerary for this adventure. Where ever we are around sunset is where camp will be made. I'll message you my inReach link so you can track our journey.

I'd be available to join a convoy from Albuquerque.....
I would too but my van is very slow on the freeway hills. I wouldn’t be able to keep up. I just need a way to find you all Friday night if possible.

So this just happened, count me out for now!View attachment 3883067

WOWZA dude, sorry to see this but glad that you two are ok. I think it might be time for the rear bumper that Chris (from Lockhart basin run) installed where the lower part of the rear part of the bed got whacked off. I don't know any info on his bumper but I can hook you two up.

Well, two of us made it. Camp for the night.

Yes, that is not my 4Runner.
