Roger, Some time in the future how about giving the rest of us mortals a little insight into how you come up with those reproduction parts and the process it takes for them to come to market. I for one am very interested. Your parts are the best and your customer service is as good and I look forward to what you come up with in the future.

Thanks for your affirmation. The Cruiser community is really the best. The quandary I'm faced with is that there are businesses out there motivated by things other than interest for the hobby. Recently, I discovered that an eBay business that has nothing to do with Land Cruisers started selling counterfeit versions of my hoses, even using my photos initially. As a result, I'm trying to be more careful with protecting my IP.

Early on in the thread, a brake booster was mentioned. Is this actually being made? Mine doesn’t really work anymore.

Yes, you should 'Brand' the photos you use with a translucent mark, like many do... I believe ebay will remove postings that violate TOS which includes unauthorized use of proprietary photos.

And besides that, I can't believe the :poop: that are out there...

The "weakness" in the FJ60 PS pumps has been the bushing wear. Unlike the FJ62 pumps, which use a bearing, the rebuilds don't last. Will the new design replace the bushing with a bearing?
I get what you're saying conceptually; however, there are substantial differences between the designs of the two pumps. Therefore, it's not straightforward to carry over just one piece of the puzzle.
Although rebuilds don't last long, new pumps usually make it to 100K miles.

True, and realistically I won't be driving for enough years to put another 100,000 miles on my '84 FJ60 - won't happen.

More importantly, if your parts last 100k, nobody will accuse you of planned obsolescence. ;)

On the two FJ60s and one FJ62 I've owned, I started to notice a pattern. Invariably a few parts would need replacement at about 150,000 miles - starter, water pump, and alternator. Not too shabby. No contribution yet to the pattern from my '76 FJ40, it only has 65,000 miles on it :).

It's Toyota's way of saying:

Racer65,
The Nissan Patrol forum 60Patrol.com also is a community of 4WD enthausists who would certainly support and appreciate your efforts developing solutions for their projects. Please consider expanding your production to include the G60/L60.

“Buy junk that won’t last a fifth of the time your old bucket did. I mean, it’s got electrolytes...”

Please keep up the great work in supporting our dying habits. Thank You.

Watermarking your images w/your store/name info? My wife bought some parts as a Christmas gift for me last year and I can easily see her buying from a less reputable source in order to surprise me.

Only owned the FJ62, no FJ60s. I'll be ready to watch for those things in another 30K miles. 65K that's about what my 70 FJ40 has but the first owner installed a 2F in the mid seventies.:frown: know my 76 FJ40 still has it original engine and only 4,500 miles.:)

Checking those part numbers it looks like they're for FJ40s with production dates 2/78-8/80, correct? Just trying to calibrate.
I think these must fit all year ambulance door applications. Just like the front door dash/windscreen patches. Toyota catalogs not always very accurate on the smallest detail but knowing how those panels join this reproduction will help watertight your ambulance door edge.
