great service re my brake booster order, Racer ... pleasure doing business with you (as usual!) ...

I think this is the first time this part has ever been caught on film: 24V light bulb for the OEM fog light. Now you can install OEM fog lights on your diesel Cruiser. I have a few of these (key word being few...) in the Unicorn section of my website.

Rebuild kits are unavailable, and these pumps are in short supply. It's a good idea to pick one up, especially for a '78 with that feed tube.

Any plan for another run of '78 fuse panels and covers? I'm in the market for one.

A few people have asked. Yeah I need to make another batch. Been too busy lately getting other project done, but I will get to it. Rear step is out too, and there are only a few intake hoses left...oh man.

racer...any chance you may offer a rebuild kit for these OEM fuel pumps in the future???

I doubt it, actually. When a fuel pump goes, usually people just want to swap in a new one and get back on the road quickly.

Would probably be a market for the kits. One of the easiest rebuilds I've done was the fuel pump. More work disconnecting the lines and removing the pump from the block then rebuilding it. I would buy just the replacement diaphragm. Check valves seem to last longer with plenty of old pumps for parts. Early cruisers have a hand primer which is nice to have when your cruiser sits for a while some times. I've pulled diaphragms from newer pumps to rebuild those.

As someone had mentioned, when Toyota supplied the rebuild kit, it cost almost as much as a new pump. There isn't huge savings to be had, especially when a new factory pump can be gotten in the low $100 range.

Placed my order on Saturday and received it yesterday! From CA to GA.
Thanks for the goodies and fast shipping Racer.

Do you know if the new pumps are made to the same specs as the original? The diaphragm from the later non hand primer pumps worked in the earlier pump with the hand primer. Hate to lose the option of rebuilding those even if it means buying a new pump just to take the guts out to rebuild a old pump. I have some old dealer parts books from the mid sixties. Would be interesting to see what the kit and pump cost back then. I bought a kit for my 68 in the mid seventies and remember it was a fraction of a new pump back then.

The last price for the kit that was spec'd for my '73 (in effect when the kit was discontinued, 04231-60070) was $52.60 list, $39.45 w/discount. I have no idea what the pump was going for at the time. Given the fact that there are wear parts in the mechanical linkage as well, a new pump is likely the best choice.

Note that a lot of rebuild kits were dropped (at least here in the USA) when labor rates climbed hyperbolically.
