So I finally got around to addressing the broken bolts that hold my plastic under body shield on. Three of the four rear bolts were broken. I successfully drilled them out but on all three I failed to get the proper trajectory and the hole was ruined by blowing out the side. All three have blown out about 50% of the inner thread wall. I'm thinking of just using some plastic rivets since they should hold well enough for my mall crawler daily driver people hauler purposes but as with anything else I bet someone has been in this position before or has an opinion on what the best fixation method would be. I had been planing on drilling out then using a helicoil but with so much of the hole ruined I don't think this is a great option. As an added bonus the plastic rivets won't rust!

Nutserts! And you don't need a special tool to install them.

First off you've now expose metal, coat it with POR-15 to keep from rusting.

I agree nutsert a very good way to go..
If plastic fasteners hold, your are good.
If one or two of the bolts are in #3 cross-member, you can replace that. When doing a diff drop, cross-member in the kit.
