We were doing international ~10 months ago but the little boy we were going to adopt was adopted by another family. We have been back and forth on trying to decide what to do. Are you guys trying to adopt and older child?

We are doing a domestic private adoption. My wife wants as close to a new born as possible, that way we can experience all the "firsts" also knowing how critical those early stages are in childhood development we want to be able to give our kid the best shot.

DSS seems like a mess, and it sounds like there is a full year that the birth family can get cleaned up and take back a child (that is DSS's goal is to keep the child with the birth family).

We have been dealing with a lawyer here in Greenville (Raymond Godwin). So far its been going real good they have been very helpful most everyone that works there has adopted and are very knowledgeable. For us we are just waiting for the phone call at this point.
