:meh: Agree to disagree.

On what. The beer pong table? Are you saying Chuck needs to continue to ride on the top of the car to hold it down?

Toyota applies its car-making expertise to line of boats, including the new Ponam-35
More renowned for its prowess with wheeled vehicles, Toyota Motor Corp. is increasing its seaborne fleet with the launch of a new leisure boat, the Ponam-35.

But the 11.95-meter cruiser is still related to the car manufacturer's mainstream products as its two V8-cylinder engines are adapted versions of the 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine that can be found in the Toyota Land Cruiser.

When you can buy a true sportfish convertable in a 410C Albermarle with twin CAT diesels for a good bit less why would you buy this "Cruiser"?

Okay why is the boat above a true sportfish and the Toyota not? That is what I don't understand. What's the difference. They both look the same.

Went to the range today shot about 200 rounds.....great stress reliever

A sportfish boat is setup for offshore fishing. So it needs a good flared bow for rough seas. It also needs a very low transom and dedicated fishing deck. The Toyota looks to have a high transom like most cruiser type boats. It also doesn't have a bow that can take rough seas. Also, it is very light, being made out of aluminum, and I would think the 2-3 ton difference would make it a little tossy at sea.

All of this is just my opinion, and is based loosely on the picture above. There may be further proof on this boat that makes it a sportfish, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that it is almost $22k a foot, and the Albermarle is only $17k a foot. And it's ugly.:)

I think you also asked what a convertible is. A convetible is a boat that has a nice sedan and can be used for long hauls and cruising, but can also be used as a dedicated offshore fishing boat. If a boat is lacking the "dedicated offshore" ability, then it is just a cruiser, or maybe trawler.

2-3 tons will make a world of difference at sea.

Thats the difference between being in a kayak and a 30 ft pontoon.

There are people in blue water cruisers that won't go from florida to the bahamas in anything less than 30ft

and there are people who go from florida to the bahamas in day sailors and jet skis.

To each his own.

Mmm pbr. Bottom of the barrel beer

hey chuck!! We should get together and drink some pbr and turn some wrenches!!! Don't think the gang could stand the two of us working together!!

Haha.....sounds good Gabe.....no telling how many rolls of duct tape and bungee cords we would use.....along with several cases of PBR!

PBR is excellent beer. All that other stuff just has too many ingredients. They try too hard. I'm ok with Nattie too. It's a natural choice.
