if u guys get a chance look at the pics ga cruisers took of durhamtown. Mdennis is there in his 60. Looked like he did quiet well.

Yeah the motor is the CHEAP part about this mod. I had $100 in my block and I got the carb in trade. I still had over $1000 in the swap.

Tempting- 5.7 ltr chevy motor carborated

I guess what is so disheartening is cost of adapter for transmission is so friggin high.

if your motor has good compression you can get a good 300 for it.

You can get a used SBC to LC adapter for @250.

Your oil/water sensors will fit right in the block with some thread sealer to help it out.

You'll still have to get motormounts (around 100 bucks for a kit like i have)

figure out exhaust. If you can't do it yourself that can be an easy 200+.

plus the million other little things that you don't think about until your putting the engine in your bay. Wiring, plumbing, clutch slave cylinder routing, etc.

Getting the A/C, PS, and other items plumbed/wired will easily run over $250. That of course is assuming the motor comes with all working acc. and dist. and wires. Figure another $150 for little things like throttle cable adapting, sensor adapters, hose clamps, oil, antifreeze, etc.

luckily we have the cline company right in town so getting custom a/c and p/s lines made is pretty quick and affordable.

I don't know about AC lines, but lately I have been using PSC buildable lines for PS. I really like the fact that I can rebuild them myself if I bust a line, plus I can do them in the garage instead of sending them out to a shop.

well dohcdelsol93 and i figured out my alternator woes. Twas a burnt out fuse. Never even crossed my mind.:bang:

the ignition switch is a vital part of the charging system in the cruiser!

so I have looked at marshall's fsm links and was reviewing the hub rebuild one,, I have taken apart MANY axles and hubs and not one has had the bolt and washer in the end of the Birfield,,,,anyone else have this experience?

saw a VW Jetta with mud/SEO sticker at Anderson Univ. tonight (i think it had a faculty sticker too). Who would that be...Mrs. Springs???

crazy things are happening!! So last earlier this week we figured out my alt. woes. Well today i replaced the steering dapener thingy on the dent and drove it to work to see if i could tell a difference. So i go to the truck to go home, open the door, and waa lah! The dome light comes on. Soo after getting halfway home i start hearing something when i take a turn. I immediately worry something is scrubbing in my front end. Nope, the power steering is trying to work. Notice is said trying. I think my pump needs replacing but hey at least it's trying.

if your have a 60 and it has more that 100K on it....you need a new PS pump!

Wow, only a 100k out of a stock pump. For the money Yota charges for these things you would think they would last longer.

On another note, I finally figured out what happened to my door before URE last November.

It turns out that the hinges didn't bend at all. All it was, was the door limiter hyper-extended, and when I closed it back something was bent on it and it kept hitting the door window channel. Needless to say after closing it multiple times it finally worked enough clearance that the door would close without any problems. However, my limiter finally gave way completely yesterday so I took the panel off to take a look. All this time my window woudl only roll down half way. Found a REALLY bent window channel, so after I replace that and put a new limiter, it will be good as new. YEAH, now I don't have to remove the damn door.

I also heard they were paying $150 for coyotes now in the Upstate. Is that true? If so, I might have to spend the weekend at my brothers house in Simpsonville and a make few hundred.

Let me get this straight. They brought them back into the south and now are paying us to get rid of them? If so i myself will be looking into doing some hunting this year. I have a good area in mind that i know coyotes roam. The dent needs a v8!!:hillbilly:
