well i let my battery charge overnight. Put it back in and it seems to be a steady 11.5voltsl. I havent actually driven it yet to see if it goes up any more. I will be driving it tonight so we'll see.

well i drove it to work tonight and halfway there the gauge goes flatline again. Went to a advanced auto across from the plant and the battery tested at 10 volts. Long story short had to jump it off to get back home. Here is my gripe: When we jumped it off it started right up but all electrical was almost dead. Soooo i rev the engine up to around 3500 rpm's and walla reads 12 volts and headlights and other lights look great. Stayed at 12 volts all the way home. I am gonna take it to alternators unlimited and go from there. I wonder if it is not a pully or something.:bang::bang:

Are you just using the little gauge in the truck to get your voltage. I would get a small $10 tester from Harbor Freight and see what is going on at the battery. Get one that is magnetic and reads 10,10.5,11,11.5, etc or something like that, or get a real voltage meter.

I have had dead batteries charge to over 12 volts, but die down to 10 in 24 hours. The fact that you couldn't get it over 11 volts tells you have a dead battery. Did Autozone test the battery inside, or did they just jump you off. While it is running, have someone spin up the alt. and test for 13.5 at the battery. If you are getting that then it is definitely a battery problem. If not start tracing alt. issue and possibly a battery issue.

I had to help an Accord on the hwy that had a bad alt. yesterday. After we jumped it off, it would only drive about 1 minute before dying again. The fact that you made it home on the alt. tells me it has to be a battery issue.

I have already pulled the alternator so i am gonna have it checked anyway. The battery is also pulled so i will leave it to be charged and tested as well. It started this morning which was unexpected but when i started the htr the voltage started going down again.

going to alt. unlimited with the alt. tired of having aa or autozone chek it

That guy doesn't get alot of love from the LC locals does he?

I am picking up a rim off a 94 4runner at the pull a part in a day or 2.

Does anyone want any big 4 piston V6 calipers, if they are indeed V6 and in good shape? I can grab them while I am there if you want. I think they charge $10 ea. If not, I will grab them for spares on my rig.

dont' forget there is another reader waiting for you in Atlanta...suppose to be able to print at one time.

Gehn...how the hell are ya.....see any Cruisers in Kabul....what are you doing over there again? Good to hear from ya.

Hey Chuck! Yeah, we have 2 of them! An armored HZJ105 and "soft" HDJ100. They're enough to get my fix, but I still miss the 60! I work for an NGO called Clear Path International that specializes in landmine/conflict victim assistance and disability sector development. I am the Operations Manger for the Afghanistan field office.
