Well, the truck is ALOT of truck. I built it to tackle hard trails, but not sure how I trust riding my family around in such a large open top vehicle. People drive crazy around here. Plus the wife might lose her teaching job after this year, and I will need to consolidate some bills. If I get a 4runner, build it up, and have it paid for I could get rid of the Tacoma in a pinch and save $500 a month. I would still have a camping/wheeling truck and still get to work. If she doesn't lose her job, I still have the Runner and the Taco to drive everyday, pull the boat, go to Lowes, etc.
I was smart with the money when I built it, and I should be able to get most of what I put into it back.
Just trying to be smart and look out for my family in these tough times. $4+ gas, and possible layoffs, accompanied with MASSIVE foreclosure houses flooding the market equals double-dip recession in my book. I am not sure if even my company can survive 4-5 more years of this. Which is fully expected.
Oh, and the last reason, it's just a toy. The most enjoyable part of it was building it for me.
