Amen. Make one for 77 also. Had to drive to Virginia the other day and wish I had a financial interest in the orange barrel industry.
Oh, and while I am whining Lake Norman used to be my spot to stop for gas. Never again with the "improved" overpass. That is fxxxed.

Oh, man... how appropriate this would have been for me yesterday. I left Greer at 2:15 for a 3:00 appointment in Gaffney and made it to Gaffney at 3:20. Bumper to bumper traffic on I-85 N. Then, left Gaffney at 4:15 to try to make a 5:00 meeting off Pelham Rd. in Greenville. I rolled into Greenville around 5:25. Let's just say 2 1/2 hours on I-85 was more than enough for me!

The construction through Spartanburg, and typical Greenville around 385, is just horrible. Never mind further south through Atlanta.

Any of you guys coming to the ONSC meet and greet?

Would like to help at Uwh on Sat. Camping at the cabin? Still a few potential commitments here though.

Youll be rights as rain next week.

New roof installed today. Took 15 sheets of plywood! Dreading the bill. Supposed to get new counter tops installed Wednesday.

So 2018 was the year we did some light renovation work to the house. Getting new countertops and doors in the kitchen and a couple modifications to the cabinets. Took out the backing behind the stove and lo and behold the previous owners had a fire. Apparently they covered it up and called it good. The wood is still super solid so we are going to scrub it down with Clorox then kiltz it. Going to put a ceramic backsplash over it anyways.

All but done...

The kitchen upgrades/remodel look great. Did you keep your original cabinets and reface them with new doors and hardware? The cabinets look new but I noticed the layout appears to be the same. Either way, it looks great.

We have been in the planning stages of a kitchen upgrade for the last few months. It all started with "we need to get new countertops." We then thought about painting the cabinets and/or getting new doors and hardware. I was thinking $3-4K with Granite and some paint.
Fast forward... Lots of "while we are at it, we should...." The contractor is starting in two weeks with all new custom built cabinets, new granite countertops, New paint in the main part of the house, scrape popcorn ceiling, new hand scraped hardwood floors, etc..... $$$$$$$$$$ Of course, now our appliances need to be replaced... wrong colors :bang: The wife is killing me. We will now be about 10x the cost of what my initial thoughts were.

Somebody needs to stop watching HGTV! I know I do! Chip & Joanna Gaines are funny but also create a lot of envy when I see what they do to homes and how woefully bad ours looks in comparison!

Ha, Ha. We don't watch HGTV thankfully. Just needing to upgrade a 17 year old kitchen and somehow told my wife "as long as it makes you happy." Bad statement by me...

Cabinets are the same but we did change the layout. Those oversize drawers were two separate doors. I couldn't come up with the $ for new ones. I wanted granite and was quoted just north of 2k but my wife talked me out of it. Doors, hardware, and counter tops are all new. Also had a new roof put on. Two or three days ago.

We are considering selling and moving up to a bigger house. We only have 3 bedrooms so my three boys share a bedroom. Ok for now but I foresee problems in the future. Supposedly in today's market I can get $130k for our home. I paid 85k 15 yrs ago so could carry some significant $$ into a bigger home once sold. We actually are looking at a couple homes later today to get an idea of what's out there.
