Well I bought the rest of the steel for the Tubing bender yesterday so it can be mounted to a hitch. I Will be welding it up this weekend. So plan on the tubing bender being in action from now on.

Marshall - see Al or Jason on North Florida Cruiserheads for insane pricing on 1 3/4" HREW out of Jacksonville. I picked up 120' for about a buck a foot.

Wish I were closer - would be nice to use a newer set of dies - mayhaps I'll get with Jim and Mike to do a UC bender South Florida tour someday!

Hmmmmm I wonder how I did that?

Finally got the trailer hitch mount finished. Works well once I figured out how to put it all together.

Just another perk of being a UC member.

Works for me, just figured with the nice weather someone could use it before we sell it and get some club funds back.

I agree with spending it on something we all would use and benefit from.

A bunch of people have expressed interest in using the bender but I don't think anyone has gotten around to it. Several others donated money to purchase the bender IIRC. (I might still have that spreadsheet.) Can the club have a "You Can Bend Day?"

There was talk of having a How to use the bender day awhile back, but I do not think anything ever came of it. I have wanted to use it or at least make a few things for multiple vehicles but have no welder or a know how of how to use the bender. There was a guy on NC4x4 selling some 1 3/4 DOM.

Sure, "You can bend day" all you want on the new UC trailer.:)

:)J/k, as I have no prior knowledge of the purchase or said "investors".

I think it is a nice tool to have around, but since knowone has used it since it was bought almost 2 years ago, my vote goes to selling it and using the money for something we all can use.

Wait! If we sell the bender, what are we going to put in Marshall's garage to replace the space?

I say we sell it in all it's glory.

I bought it because everyone said they had a need. Gehn, Alan and myself plucked down 50 each to use it. We never did. I've taken it to a few events. But we have never had the time to use it or we are too cheap or poor to buy the tubing and do it ourselves. I'd rather just buy the stuff already made.

Maybe we can entice the other surrounding clubs to chip in on it and have 3 clubs own it. Not as if we don't see each other once or twice a year. They might be interested.

I can always strap it to a pallet and ship it on it's way. No problems with that either.

Good question but one that has already been answered. I have the Hal 2000 engine analizer in my garage currently. That was an item we got for free but never used it as well.

Also that bender needs to go from my garage every time I knock it over it breaks something and cracks the concrete. It's not light by any means.

I look forward to the day when I'm not storing something or fetching something the club owns. Currently right now I have a bag of t-shirts, a box of stickers, canopy, bender, Hal 2000, and I'm sure some other crap I'm tripping over in the garage currently.

I would love to have a front bumper made. But even if i had the $$ i don't know how to weld or bend pipe . If it was organized to where we do the bend day I could probably fix the $$ part but would need help with welding and bending. Would prefer to have some time in advance to plan on event also.

if it hangs around the club until spring i'd gladly go in with someone on some tubing for a bumper.

I'm not wanting an ABR knock off but would love to knock off and OEM fj60 brush guard.

i don't know how to weld but i do have a kid on my hockey team that can weld extremely well, builds custom intake manifolds/turbo manifolds for auto-cross imports. Being that he is as of now a broke college kid i'm sure we can all chip in a little cash for a day of welding work if no one else in the club is capable.

he does have his own welder (large commercial job that does both alum and steel) but i don't think it will move easily without a lot of hands from it's current location. Possibly see about doing the "bender day" at his shop if we have enough interest?
