I bought the BJ42 two years ago and went through unbelievable trials getting it road and trail-ready!

Including:

1) Garrett turbo installation (thanks diesel42!)
2) Replaced head gasket
3) Then had to replace ENGINE when engine seized due to cylinder sleeves shed into oil pan
4) New front and rear bumpers
5) New WARN winch
6) New battery balancer / equalizer with 12v output for gauges
7) New Dakota Digital Gauge Cluster
8) All new Dakota Digital digital sensors for oil pressure, coolant temp, EGT, and boost
9) New rims and 33 in BF Goodrich tires
10) OME suspension with 4 inch lift
11) New LED headlights

Now able to get up hills in 4th gear with EGT at 1400 and 12 psi of boost.

Whaddya think should be next?

nice looking rig! since you ask, I would do something different with the air filter housing lid and feed to the turbo... what you have there hurts my eyes!

I'd use something stock looking like this lid from a diesel 80 series (snip is from partsouq).

1400 EGT's sounds high to me.

How do you like the dakota dig guage and wiring it up? I'm considering one

The Dakota cluster, gauges, and sensors are very spendy, but super attractive and work very well. I did all the wiring and sensor installation, and it’s not that difficult. Perhaps the biggest early obstacle was creating a 12 V power source

As for the EGT of 1400, that’s only for the briefest moments, usually not for more than 10 seconds
