So say you had a rolled 80 and wanted to strip is down to a cowel, hood, grill/lights and some floor pan then tube out the rest. Thinking 3-4 seater as light weight as possible. I'm looking for ideas and pics of how one might set out to bend up the tube for this thing. I found a few tubed out rigs but there has to be more of these. Any guidance from those in the know? Let the creative juces flow....

Do it.

Nice rigs - that's what I'm talkin about. I had seen Unbreakable Fabs rig but not yours Chop Shop. I'm really looking for ideas on the cage design for a 3 or 4 seater. Basically any tube rig built on a factory frame, low COG, minimal floor pan, no fenders, and adequate clearance for say 38-39.5 tires. Keep 'em coming!

This is a 70 series but a stretched version of this would be great huh?

Intresting, move the engine back for weight distribution I assume. Would add a bunch of work to the project but something to consider...

Mine isnt exactly tubed out, but it is missing a ton of metal. front doved, rear bobbed, roofless.

Matt & Rock Ware has done this with Rovers and they work great!

ROCK WARE - RR Range Rover / Discovery Tube Buggy - these rigs normally use stock Coil Springs!

Ive been talking with him about modifying his chassis to work on an 80 frame..

moving the engine/Radiator back gives a better weight distribution and clearence around the front of the rig..

Other than moving the mounts rearward, New Driveshafts is all that would be needed.

80 wheelbase is pretty optimal too i think its a great platform! just have to get rid of all the weight!
