Got my 60 back from the shop was dripping coolant. The engine was getting checked over after an over heat (my fault)
replaced hoses and flushed the living crap out of it. (needs it again).
I Just assumed it was a loose hose clamp that was leaking under pressure
was dripping coolant, a drop every second or two.
and took me a few days to get back. rad was over 2 gallons down.
wasn't able to see leak just by eyeballing.
added fluorescent dye to the coolant in the radiator, filled up, and was running to mix it up, saw water+coolant+dye literally squirting out behind a small hose, (pics in a second)
the water was coming out in a perfect laminar stream, between 3/16" and 1/4" thick. Didn't look like a leaking hose, more like a small hose or plug was missing.
first a general location pic, under the alternator, under the big bracket thing bolted to the engine, is a small brand new hose.
Water was squirting out just behind and in line with the hose, roughly where red arrow is. You can see how much dye squirted out all over the driveway underneath.
I'm guessing this is the coolant l hose to the oil cooler? (I assume this is the hose they replaced as it's new to me) Just behind that. about where the arrow is, is the stream of coolant start location.
Second pic is up close, was squirting just to the left of the hose clamp screw in this pic again from where the arrow is pointing inline with the arrow.
last pic is jamming the phone in trying to see where it was coming from.
What exactly is going on there? I cant' even id what is back there that water could be squirting out of.
IS it squirting out of a hose connection I can't see? out of the water pump? The lower thermostat housing?
I just cant' see what's going on back in there very well.
Thanks,
Eric-
