Hi everyone happy sunday - I was fiddling with my door lock mechanism on driver side of my '82 south american market FJ40 and created a problem for myself -- i pushed down the rotating piece and how it's locked in a down position and I don't know how to get it to release. The door will not latch now. Any OGs with advice on a DIY fix? I have basic tools but haven't had any success yet figuring out how to release it back to the up position... Help pls! Thank you in advance and i'll post a few photos here...

Pull and hold the handle to open while putting a screwdriver in where the *pin* of the door frame would normally be captured and pry the latch back open.
Spray in some dry lubricant, after you spray and let dry the brake clean used to wash out the crud. Perhaps the spring is weak/broken
