Ya it works really well. Just uses 3/16 tubing which is pretty common. Clamps tube with a nut to set depth.... threat in plug one way and bottom.... thread in the other way and bottome... done.

Versus the older style that you really seem to need 3 hands to use. I can do this with 2 sausage finger hands and still manage.

I’m actually going to buy this. I have a flare tool and I hate it. It seems tube splits at the flare half the time and you gotta cut back and do it again.

actuall made a little more progress last night.

Still waiting for brake lines from frame to axle -- should be today and for some final brake fittings... hopefully also today. If that all goes well I could have brakes this weekend....

I did manage to get the airbox back to a spot I think it will work. Need some new silicone elbows and to relocate an electrical junction box but overall I'm thinking it will work.

Hoping my steering joints get here as thats holding up a bunch of stuff... not sure when they will arrive.

Where did you get your brake tubing from? I was going to order some Co-Ni on amazon with the tool, but the stuff I was looking at seems to get the thumbs down on mud.

Greggs Distributors has the easy-to-bend brake tubing.

Greggs is powerfully evil. So much goodness but so expensive but so available.

Somehow I ended up with a Greggs catalogue back in 2009 (something to do with getting an orange truck ready for ACT). I still flip through that from time to time, but living 6 hours from the nearest location helps keep the danger level to a minimum.

I still think back to those times fondly, including the time said orange truck burst into flames after removing the skid plate. Danger! Danger! High Voltage! Hahaha. Gregg’s is still one of my happy places. They carry all the hard to find treasures like certain non-peasant square shovels

He’s in need of having these installed.

Rolled it out of the garage to start some other projects.

welded in panhard mount.

Got air filter mounted but not entirely plumbed. Not far off though.

welded in removable shock tower brace. Well I should say tacked it in.

driving it out it felt pretty neat.

Back in the shop again! Have the steering shaft sorted with a perfect u joint from borgenson that goes onto Toyota steering boxes. This then connects to a double D steering shaft and another u joint at the column. Much better than my older version.

With this little bit of work out of the way I'll be able to pour the welding wire to this last corner locking in the rest of the suspension mounts.....

Then onto fender mounting .....

Looks good. You must have some “40 series only party - trail run” for the summer or fall you’re looking to have it built in time for. Not far off. Burn some steel!
