Oy.

Right after I replaced the globes and diff fluids and she was riding like a new rig. Farewell, faithful friend.

So I’m in the market for another. Considering whether to go 100 or 200. On the one hand, I shallowly just don’t really like how the 200 looks. On the other hand, on my 100, I replaced the CV axles, boots, globes, timing belt, water pump, windshield, head unit and driver side electronics (after windshield failure and leaks), and so many more little things… insurance has given me $14k to work with, so I’ll probably be stretching up in any case to get into anything of similar mechanical condition to my old rig.

The real challenge is to not spend literally all my free time hunting for cruisers on the internet!

Well, on the bright side, you have a great parts rig!

If you’re looking at the 200 series, I like the styling of the 2016+ rather than the early 200 series. No timing belt with the 200 series so you will save in that respect if you’re planning for long term ownership :)

Obviously only you can determine your budget but I’m seeing some 2016 in the high 38k for sub 150k miles.

Sucks you got your rig where you wanted it.

I think it all depends on how much you want to spend and how long you want to look. I ended up with an ‘06 as it had all the best of the 100s without the price jump to the 200s. I also agree the 100s look better, but the 200s do everything better (tow, hp, MTS, larger, etc.)

I looked for both 200s and 100s, and it took about eight months to find a clean, rust-free example that wasn’t a bazillion dollars.

Good luck in your search and I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice.

Ask insurance how much buy back is, keep it for parts, buy another 100, start switching stuff over, to sell other parts.

That's the complicated way. Probably but what I would do. I would buy a 200 haha
