Well I just looked at all the posts about the turbos. I love the turbo idea but I feel more at home with it in a car, say like my supra. Seems to "race" for a cruiser, unless ofcourse it's a diesel. So I've been thinking of the TRD supercharger...any comments on it and how it compairs to turbos. And price is not object, but I think saying TRD supercharger is way cooler than "aftermarket" turbo system.

I have a TRD on my 97, completely love it.

Junk, not so much the one he had on his....

Try and drive both, after that I'm sure it would be an easy decision for you.

I have the TRD super and it works very well. Used for 35000 miles. Having said that, I have driven a safari turbo 80, and if I had the choice again, would definitely go for the turbo. More seat of the pants kick.
Cheers,
Sean

I Just got this reply from Man-A-Fre about their turbo they have in the works..We shall see..

Paul, We're just waiting for the intercooler to get here. All other items are ready, ceramic ball bearing turbine, cast manifold, waste gate, etc. As soon as we're finished we'll have it up on the web. We'll also send you a direct e-mail.
Regards, Al

yeeeeaaaaahhhhhh....
and it's just so easy to find an 80 with a SC and an 80 with a turbo in the same area...

What are there...something like 4 or 5 guys on this forum with turbos in their 80s? Not really all that common.

Having never driven an 80 tubo, I can't compare. But I love the SC and wonder how I ever managed without it.

If Junk replies to this thread...ignore him :D

No worries. Junk is working again so he doesn't have time to play in this forum much. Besides, he sold me his SC for $50.... and that reminds me, I still owe him the $50.

:D

-B-

The published price is $3,811.00. You can pick one up for just under 3 grand.

I somehow feel like I'm watching a -B- movie............................. :flipoff2:

Oh yaa, I'm one of the five or six.............................................:flipoff2:

Who's your motha...........now :bounce:

monochromacity sucks....................

Todd, the SC crawls just fine. Ran the rubicon with stock gearing and 315 MTRs. Worked ok, but is mucho better with 4.88s.
Cheers,
Sean

That would be the SC with the auto-destruct option that Junk was fond of using? :D
