maxitrac spare tire bag.
24 bucks at Napa. Toss a 13 gallon trash bin in it to keep its shape. It's been great for the past 30K miles all over the US!

I cross the straps and zip tie the top straps together. this pinches the straps so they don't move when there's weight in the bag@NoClue and @rlynch356
Do either of these bags attach in a way that prevents them from sliding down when weight is in them?
@OldCarSmellI’ve come to disdain the style of bag with the clipping X straps. They always loose themselves, especially under load and when being bounced around, and eventually slide off on their way to wearing out.
My next will be one of these:
I can’t attest to its quality or durability personally, but I’ve seen one on the back of a neighbors Jeep for two years running (on full time through Oregon summer and winter) and it seems be holding up well.
That’s a bummer! To clarify, I don’t own one but have in passing studied a neighbor’s Jeep adorned with one that appears to have held up well to southern Oregon elements on a Jeep to also appears well used. I’ve had it bookmarked as a possibility bc my old Trasheroo doesn’t even stay aligned when it’s sitting on the spare wheel of my trailer in my garage, let alone when we’re out on a trip. I’ll have a peak at the Jeep next time I pass by and see what size the tires are. My guess is they’re larger than 33.2” (I also run 275/70, BFGs for me) on my 200.@OldCarSmell
So I took the flier on this Zoestra bag for $29 on Amazon.
What size tire do you have?
Mine is 275/70r18. This is 33.2” by 10.8” which, by the info on Amazon, should easily fit. But I can’t get the straps around the tire. I need like 2 more inches. (Truly I need 8 more so as to have room to play as I tighten it)
Luckily Amazon has such an easy return program these days.
Edit:
The bag is now $19 on Amazon.
Darn. I think you might have initially said that it was a neighbor’s and I selectively missed that. That’s a bummer! My Trasharoo is mounted on my trailer's spare tire. That thing is tiny. But in reading the reviews on Amazon there are several reviews where people say they have larger tires than mine and it fits them.
So I went out and tried to make it fit again and again failed.
So either I’m inept or their quality control is poor when cutting the strap to length.
But either way, I’m returning mine. Even if it could fit, it would be barely and I wouldn’t want to struggle each time I put it on - especially after changing a tire when I’m already frustrated.
“Glorious” photos indeed! My Trasharoo is mounted on my trailer's spare tire. That thing is tiny.

Yes, my straps are crossed, and are initially installed very tight. Once the buckles are clipped in together I run a zap strap through an opening in one buckle, into the opening of the matching buckle, and then close the zap strap. This basically ensures that even if you pull on the closed buckle, it's not going to open.“Glorious” photos indeed!
You are crossing the straps in the back, huh?
(Like others have suggested.)
I need to try that along with the also suggested zip-ties.
Though, to be clear, the bag that wouldn’t fit on my spare tire was the Zoestra brand bag that is now $19 on Amazon.
My old Trasharoo fit fine, it would just sometimes slide down and hang too low (like a filled diaper). Hence my need to try crossing the straps.
