I have 1999 LC that seems to have lost 1st gear. It is driveable when I put it in low range, which I did to put it on the trailer to take to the mechanic. I am planning on selling this one since it is quite rusty and I bought a 2000 that has spent its whole life in California so it is very clean.

1999 Atlantis Blue Mica
165k miles
Triple Locked (Electronic Lockers with 80-series switch)
New brakes and stainless brake lines
New shocks
New fuel tank
Pioneer Head Unit with Bluetooth and Wireless Carplay

I was planning on keeping her for a while so I have been putting a lot of money into parts and repairs. When I saw the 2000 in the color I really wanted (Mahogany Pearl) and zero rust, I went ahead and just bought it.

I think this truck could be a good project for someone who isn't afraid of repairing/replacing the frame. Should I replace the transmission, attempt to repair it, or list the truck as-is? What do you think it is worth?

Pull the good parts to your 2000 and part out the rest. If its rusty enough to need a new frame, I doubt you'll recover the extra money you need to put in to make it sellable.

Yeah, I did pull all of the accessories like the rack and drawers. I'm not looking to recover all the money, just enough to make it worth selling to someone as a project or even as their own parts truck. I just don't have the time or knowledge to keep chasing the rust.

Make sure it's not a drive flange/CV first, way more common than a tranny going out. If you are selling/asking for prices, post in the classifieds.
Thanks, I will get the shop to check it out. The CVs are new so I doubt that is it but I will have them check just in case.

I'm betting if you lock the center differential in H you'll be able to drive. Check flanges as TM said, and look for a loose c-clip in the little cap on the hub
I will try that. Thank you
