Transfer case - Transmission seal? (1 Viewer)

I just pulled my transfer-case out of my 97 to get gears and rebuilt. I was wondering if the seal around the transmission output shaft can be replaced without disassembly of transmission?

Is it simply a press in seal?

Yes and you need two. One for trans output and one for transfer case input. Very easy.

Quick question: Does the seal for the Rear output shaft "seal" around the Parking brake Drum? Thanks. I had a seal replaced and there are grooves worn in what I thought (did not take a picture) was the parking brake drum. Or is it this part 26 in picture?

I only see the front Part (26) and not one for the rear. Hence my question about where the seal. Wish I had my phone.

Parking brake drum? I believe the OP was asking about his 97 FZJ80.
