Considering the inti style with drop down sides. From your mounts to my garage door is 4 inches. So I assuming there may be a way to make one with fold down and removable sides all around so could make as a flat rack as well? With a flat rack portion I believe I could probably clear the door with 1-2 inches to spare if i need to park in the garage to work on it. Do you use any other flooring options like the inti for a platform to stand or put a chair on.

T, Yes...

The bottom rail is 2" tall and I hope to get the sides to fold down even with or below the top of that rail. Worst case would be 1" above. I can easily make an aluminum rail platform similar to the INTI. 4" or 6" wide planks/straps.

I have a couple of orders to build once I get home and then plan to work on this.

@reevesci it is a very nice kit! It's a shame our welds can't measure up to yours.
We added a scab plate to beef up the frame around the bracket mounting area.

I was thinking about that when I spoke with J. If I decide to make more of these I will incorporate that into the kit.

Yes, the scab was also nesessry (on my 96 anyway) to allow the hatch to clear the top collar. It's a great design. I just need to cut a tiny piece off the bottom corner for the trim to nest properly. The setup has 0 rattle and it's smooth as silk. I look for any excuse to open the back. I think the simplicity of the spindle and pop pin plate makes it nice. The toggle clamp is great too. I'm all over the place with 0 issues. The welds, as always with your work, are perfect.

Two more small recommendations: make the spindle about an inch longer. It would allow some latitude for placement of the 2x4 and allow the bottom pin bracket to be placed high enough to clear the plastic bumper cover and make the tire swing out 6" longer so the latch will clear the tire.

The only things I would change he covered. The 2x4 slightly longer, the carrier arm longer for alternative clamp placement if desired and a longer spindle or a weldable spacer to allow the spindle to sit higher if desired. I dropped it all the way in when welding. The look of it and the angle on the arm bend are dead nuts perfect. The tire mount also fits snug and allows the tire to be sucked in for no rattle. Again, thanks for making the kit for me at what I consider to be an extremely fair price. All the best.
