Prep sanded the clear for my pinstripe guy to layout lines for me. Well worth the cost for me to pay Shane to pre-tape and now I will tape off and paint the 3 colors (chocolate brn, sunrise yellow and southern orange) Then feather and bury the stripes with three coats of PPG clear.
This process is about 30-40 hours but the outcome is well worth it and no future peeling tape stripes and always a good vibrant color.
A few have asked about the finish materials I'm using.. Well with a shortage of CA EPA/ VOC restraints... pigments are a premium and in short supply here now. So I ended up using PPG Global on the bases and clear.
Just paint materials for this job are close to 3800.00 (4 colors and clear with additives) plus epoxy and poly primers, paper, tape, welding, metal and plastics. Where Omni and Matrix come in around 700-1000.00 for the same quantities here in NorCal.
I'm extremely happy with the higher end materials over Standox/Axalta, PPG MBPX OMNI and Matrix MPB that I'm used to shooting for BC/CC on trail rigs.
