Trail Rides, Blue Ridge Dinner Excursions, Wrenching parties
and more!

I need your help in scheduling events for the next 3 months and over
the year. Let's post some ideas on what you want to do with the club.
As you know, we are commencing with the Sonic Drive-In the first
Saturday of every month when it does not conflict with another event.
Also, we have the camping trip coming up and the MLK at Tellico in
January.

But let's hear your ideas and then we'll put them up for a club vote.
Beach run at Nags Head? No idea is too crazy :grinpimp:

el Presidente

I would be into a fall color run on the blue ridge parkway sometime in october it'd be a ride that everyone could attend. Also I have come to find out there is a 4x4 trail near the Grave yard fields that doesn't require any mods, but it is a beautiful 2 mile trail high on a mountain ridge (great long range views and photo opps). The trail ends in a nice open saddle between two mountain tops, the perfect place for a pick-nick of camping.......... so that is just an idea.

Other than that I would like to have atleast one scheduled trail run every month. Also our brothers to the north specifically Andy want us to come join them at URE for a ride before it closes down for winter, so that is something else to think about.....

xxx is a given at the beginning of oct. Maybe a run from Blackbalsam for a picnic lunch to mount michell for dinner on a sunday. Man the have great apple pie.
This need to be done with 100s in mind. And the sooner in Oct the better the fall colors.

Ure after that. WHen does it close?

Wrenching at my place until the 3fe is in the 40, rebuild bobs h42 to accept a split tranfer case. YOU HEAR THAT BOB. Why rebuilt when you can rebuild better. Then there is power steering classes coming. Look to be a fun project.
Also Alan has that 3pd in a 4spd case thing going on. I'm in on that. We have Alex's 62 knuckles going on his 40 front. Another good mod.

Then of course there is the wrenchin party at richards house for his little piggie. I think I just have my tailgate party over there and work on it while you guys are getting the snot beat out of you. You can come back and see me doing donuts in the front yard with the pig and get her up to 70mph. You here me Richard just give the the signal and I'll be there. I want that thing to run and run right.

Who else is out there that need stuff done? JP i know your little monkey ass has something you want to do thats crazy. Come on spill the beans.

All in all I think these next 3 or 4 months are going to be fun. :D :D

being a monkey ass and having crazy ideas, is directly proportional to my funds....... being broke means atleast an attempt to be practical :crybaby:

Also forgot to add The first annual "Upstate Cruisers Hackers Day" I know a few of us have talked about having a golf outing thru the club. I know I would be in; in a heart beat....... just another thing to think about especially if fall ever decides to get here

trail rides etc

HP and MG open the 15th of Sept. and close around the first week
or so of Jan.
HP would be an easy pic nic run for everybody.....including
any Caddy drivers. ;) Say late Sept?
MG is fun in the cold. I would love to make it a snow run this winter.
Golf tourney? ANYTIME!
Pisgah Inn run this fall? Sounds great.
BF is still open too.

Alex and I discussed it some at the meeting but the idea I had in the past of a trail ride from BF all the way up it to cashiers. But I was thinking that one spot in the front is pretty rough so maybe run it from cashiers down so that more people could do it. Anyway we would announce it out and get people from NC, GA and surrounding areas in and do it as a poker run with a get together at the end. Raise a little money for the club as well. Just need to investigate the trail more and find out exactly how to get to cashiers.
Marshall the only way the pig will hit 70 is if you get going down a big old hill, or drop a v8 in it. Now if the latter choice is what you were thinking then come get started. After I mess with it friday and see how its running hopefully I wont need any more help, but if I do your right at the head of the list to call.

just another idea, for the fall........ How bout a cruiser run to Helen, Ga. for their October fest???? Helen has the longest October fest in the country running from september to the first of November..... Good beer and Cruisers that can't be beat!!!

I like this idea as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway trip. Someone suggest a date that does not conflict with all this football..I would but I don't know the schedule.

Well me and richard said October 1st on the Octoberfest trip. Does that work for everybody???? I know we have the camping trip the next weekend, but as alan said we have to work around those football dates........... and if otcober 1st doesn't work how about the 29th???

Since "The Chef" is busy the 1st and we need his abilities in any endeavor;ie our appetites require his specialities. I vote for the 29th. What say ye all?

Sometime I just crack myself up even at the risk of becoming a horses backside. Or have I arrived at that fair title already? Be careful in your rebuttal!

I vote for any weekend besides the weekend of the 8th and the 24th. To have lunch at Pisgah Inn we need to make it by the 31st.

Mike

you've got to many plans there my friend.............

Also wanted to mention Rudy and myself are planning to go up to Tellico the weekend of 15 -18 of october. That is our fall break here at school and it has been a long time since the old 40 has seen any action so I gotta go, and the color of the leaves should be just about peak at that time, so come join up if you want.........

if I have enough money for gas, you know I will........... What else would I do over fall break???

Well if the club decides to do the Fall color run then, I would come join you guys. But I just imagine Tellico would be beautiful in the fall, with all the colors and cold nights and crisp days I don't think it gets much better for wheeling....... Well except for MLK weekend, nothing like freezing to death on the trail :grinpimp: :crybaby:

How about work on that cruiser. Or help me put the 3fe in mine. Or help me do a dual battery setup since my battery and new alternator are shot. Or help Alex. He needs a lot of it!

Tellico sounds good now that I think about it. Think Richard will have his 55 running by then?

And feel privilaged I replied to You on my 1k post.
