I'm waiting for a order from TG right now, super pleased with the communication and service I received from them.
Put together a 5k order together with a couple of friends, and the service by mail was beyond amazing.
I'm waiting for the shipping by seas, so I'll be patient.

First time i deal with them, probably not the last time.

The trunnion kit was on my list, but i'm running pretty new oem bearings, so if this is a good dd thing, I'll do it next time.

I asked them specifically about the lifetime warranty on their birfs the dirty 30s birfield from them are fully warranted even used together with a long 30 spline inner axle from Longfield. Great!
But Longfield does not warrant their inner axle when used together with another birf. Bummer, but i need that long spline inner axle from Longfield.

Probably sounds like I got payed to say this, but TG will see more of my money. ;p

I am hard on my junk, I mean hard...lol. The only thing that I ever trashed of theirs was the transfer mount and that was because I am running that marlin box and one mount when I should be running two. hell I have 5 k worth of their parts on my junk and about to order a little more.

They make it sound like both the pin and the bushing are made from the same alloy. That's a definite no-no unless they are heat treated to radically different strengths. As soon as the grease is squished out and not replaced galling will start. Making the bushings out of a high contact pressure application bronze would be a good idea.

Trail gear would not exist if it were not for people like Marlin Czajkowski "actually innovating"

Marlin came out with an answer to trunnion failures... what... three, four years ago...

The only thing I would buy from trail gear would be items not listed on Marlins site as those would be the only items that likely aren't a copies. They are like the Walmart of offroad, which is fine. They obviously found the price only/ laggard segment of the market and do well catering to them. I'm glad they are turning some unique parts out for land cruisers. Personally I don't really care about saving 50$ here and there on this stuff. I know Marlins stuff will work every time and not waste my time. I personally won't buy anything made out of Chinese steel. I am not against foreign products either it is simply to me a calculated risk that is to high. A few dollars cannot justify use on something as crucial as steering. I speak read and write mandarin, lived in Taiwan and have nothing against China. There is to much cost cutting and corruption for me to trust integral parts from there at this time.

They were fine up until my motor blew a couple months ago. No issues at all with some hard wheeling.

I would recommend them if you find yourself going through trunnion bearings or just as something to do while you have your front axle apart. Very easy to install.

Bushings don't just explode if that's what you think is going to happen. I would be willing to bet that there would be no issues running these for 50K miles. As long as you keep them greased there should be no problems.

Think about the main bearings in your motor, they aren't a traditional ball bearing but they don't seem to wear out every 30,000 miles.

There's no comparison to main bearings. Main bearings are continuously lubed by pressurized oil. And last about 20 minutes when the oil stops. What's next? Toss those troublesome wheel bearings and replace them with tapered bushings that must be greased daily?

I'm not trying to start a pissing match, I just think this is a bad idea for a street driven truck. Ultimate strength for rock crawling? Maybe. But I'm betting the people who break trunnion pins haven't checked the bolts for tightness since never. Will they remember to grease the bushing?

Nah wasn't me.

Whether or not these last in the long run doesn't matter too much to me now that I am swapping in a Dana 60 for my front axle. But I hope these work out for any running them. And for those running bearings I hope they continue holding up for you. Mine were shot so I figured I would try this kit out.

I will admit I am a friend of Marlin but when it comes to safety on the road a poorly engineered and poorly manufactured product in my steering just scares me. That is the last thing I want to do is come out of a corner and my steering stick. And as far as innovation goes just because you scan a book and re print it does not make you the author. And ordering a huge batch of longfeild 30 spline birfs and grinding there number off them does not make them yours.
