Almost posted this in Chat but I figured it'd be more relevant here given availability of parts for the 6x series.

Looks like TPD changed their site to where it will NOT allow you to do a part number search without entering either specific vehicle info or a VIN, and if it's a non-original part like a substitution (as a LOT of us use with these aging rigs) it will not show up in the results. Seems to me they're basically telling those us who have found effective parts to use on our rigs that come from other Toyotas, to screw off and they won't sell us the part (unless we happen to know what exact Toyota vehicle said part comes from, but that is a rarity at least for me when I order a substitution part).

Hopefully they either change this, or a workaround is found. I have yet to find one though.

I never order from TPD anyways, they dont have parts diagrams, their shipping is super high, and takes forever. Its a company that acts as an intermediary that gets your order, then calls up toyota parts departments and orders your parts from them and they drop ship them to you. Just order from some of the many known good dealers online or even autoparts.toyota.com. Lots of dealers do 25% off coupons every few months and its valid on literally anything.

They had done fine by me up until now. My local dealer (both actually) is owned by AutoNation and they SUCK on prices, not to mention not even having the basic stuff in stock.

Partsouq has always been awesome, but a lot of times a part either isn't available or it's small enough that the international shipping costs way more than the part itself, and in those cases I'd go through TPD and not have any issues since I already knew the part number. But if this is going to be TPD's new way of doing business, they've lost mine.

if you have the part number already, autoparts.toyota does 25% off and free shipping like just about every quarter. Same with a few other sites like Serra Toyota of Decatur. Or theyll do them on holidays and stuff. They will order from regional warehouses within toyota and then once they get to their dealership then ship to you, so its a little slow, but for 25% off of OEM parts its worth it. its 25% off of normal MSRP pricing too, not the weird dealership markup price you get when you go into a toyota parts department.

I actually just got a shipment from the last 25% off sale serra toyota did and got brand new front CVs, drive flanges, wheel center caps, wheel bearings, and misc interior parts all for 25% off, at MSRP and free shipping to oregon

Hmmm. it still works for me. I searched a couple of part numbers I had written down and it returned results.

I just did myself as well and now it's behaving the way it used to. Earlier today it wouldn't even allow a search without either vehicle info or a VIN.

Wondering now if something was just boogered up earlier, or if they were testing something that was then decided against.

Our locals suck. I’ve been in there and showed the parts guy the online price and he’s said “fine, order it there and wait 15 minutes and I’ll have it ready at that price”.

It seems to be getting harder to find sites with the parts diagrams. Or, getting harder to get to the diagrams on good sites.
