A few questions to those running a Toybox with the H55 trans in their 60s. Which part number Toybox did you order, and does MC supply instructions for this install yet?
Also i thought i read that the t cases that came with the H55 trans had different gearing, are there other differences that i should be concerned about or is it a bolt up deal?

I would call Marlin Crawlers and ask if they have any instructions. Think there is an adapter plate you need or extra parts instead of the H42 standard toybox. Mudrak bolted my H55F & toybox together.

CaliCruiser is installing his and can explain better than I can about bolting them together.

Marlin Crawler ToyBox Install Instructions

I don't follow you on the tcase with different gearing. The toybox come with 2.28, 4.0, and 4.7 gear option.

This might be what you are looking for:

I thought i read the gearing in the Tcases that came with the H55F were different from the gearing used behind the 4spd cases. As for Toybox gearing i want the 4.7, no question.

They only offer the 4.7 gearing option for Toybox's going behind the H55.
As of a month ago when I got mine, there were no instructions.

When you're doing the install, and you run into an obstacles, PM me or post up.
You'll get the help you need.

Marlin himself just got done putting together a H55+toybox+splitcase(two days ago) so he could make up some instructions for the install. He took a ton of pictures so it should be pretty well laid out.

toybox to split case only comes in the 4.7:1 flavor

you will need their 19spline shaft(h42's also need a 10spline shaft for trans to toybox)

I got mine in two months ago and have had it on the trail 6-7 times and absolutely love it :D

When I had mine installed in my 84 with a h42 they were no instructions available and M/C offered very little help. They have a link to an install in a 40 that helped some but I was unable to get any help from the Marlin Crew. I was actually told by one of the employees that this was not designed to go into a 60 and that I would just have to "rig it" as best I could. I have it in and love it but the customer support was non-existant.

Two things to ask about. You will need an offset shifter that they sell if you want the marlin shift knob to work. Otherwise it will hit the transmission shifter when its engauged.

You will also need a shift boot.

Take FL cruiser up on his offer. You will find more help here than anyplace else.

That sounds right with the H42 or H41 but with the H55F 5 speed which is longer the toybox sits back farther and so it is not needed. I bought my toybox shift boot from Marlin.

I just got mine in february....must be recent past.

I think has to do with what spline your trans is.

H55 has a 19spline output shaft. MCI's 19spline input gear for the Toy Box is made just for the H55. I don't think they see the demand to make a 2.28 19sp input.

H42/H41 is 16spline output shaft but they sell you a new shaft to go to a 10spline shaft. I think they offer a 2.28 and 4.7 10spline input gear.

My guess is the NV4500 output shaft is the same as something like a GM trans(th350,sm465,etc..). giving it more options on what MCI offers on gearing because of the larger demand.

Thats just the way I think it works?

got it. that makes sense. because the front of the adapter for the toybox is different on mine and comes directly from A/A

Thanks for your input guys.
Instead of a body lift or a floor mod, i think i will be lowering the engine and trans in the frame, the body is still off anyways so out it comes again.
