Crawl sounds good if it's available then. Others can head on out before then, but this one sure as heck ain't gonna be camping before then.......just going to be getting tolerable by that time of year

If anybody needs a spare for an 416, I've got 2 wheels with roadworthy but old tires. Tires have made the trip to New Orleans and Tishomingo, so they're solid. $40 each.
Dammit. I miss a $500 40 and a local m416 on the same day....

The m100 is slightly smaller, has rounded fenders, and in the case of mine needs a completely new tub or deck or something custom on top. A few pages back in this thread there's pictures of it out front of Nolens shop. Lous trailer is a 100 and if I remember correctly

the 100 has a full floater style hub and different seat/offset requirements......
Cant remember what you paid for it, but text me what you will take for it...I'll just roll it back into the shop for another day.

Tips and suggestions for supplies for transporting a 70 FJ40 completely disassembled would be appreciated. Got a pile of straps, big and small, may grab a couple more for good measure. Figure some blocks of wood of varying sizes and a tarp. Will grab some totes for small parts and an old tire for the block.
What else might I need to haul it 450 miles and get back with everything? Also replaced a hub tonight, any idea what the preload should be on a dexter 5k axle?

I'm fun sized!
Forget tarp; I tried it on my 55 and after about 10 miles it was shredded.
Make sure top is bolted down... And sides are bolted down also.
I would take some large rubber made totes and duct tape to secure them with whatever is within.
Moving blankets and or blankets would be good if anything fragile is within.
Basics; make sure hood is latched and has bolts in it.... Doors same way.
As for axle; tighten up; but not TIGHT.... Trailer axles don't like tight. No wobble but just slightly loose is better than tight....

I'll let @jynx share all the details if he wants to, but I just wanted to send a huge thanks out to the guys at Alpha Trailer and Truck Specialties.
They went above and beyond Saturday afternoon to help get us out of a bind. To say that these guys 'get it' would be a gross understatement. From taking calls on their personal phones after hours and opening the shop back up to get us parts, to actually circling back on the highway on their way home to make sure we had exactly what we needed (which we didn't, by the way...they went BACK to the shop for us!), their level of service is unmatched. These guys are f'ing solid.
If you need a trailer, go talk to them.

If you need a 14 bolt steering axle fabbed up for your crawler, go talk to them (yea, that's right...Chris has a f'ing 14 bolt steering axle in the works in the fab shop).
