My mom is looking for a vehicle to tow behind a motor home. She likes the new FJ Cruiser. However, the dealer was not sure if it could be flat towed. (Thinks it would be too much work to place on a trailer.) Does anyone know if the FJ can be flat towed behind a motor home? Does it need the manual transmission to do this? Transfer case in 2 or 4 wheel?
Thanks.

Owners manual says no to all of them. I think the only way to do it with out hurting anything would be to disconect the drive lines at front and rear diffs.

It can only be towed with all 4 wheels off the ground... Sorry don't think this is the truck for the job.:frown:

Isn't the "N" position on the transfer case for towing? I thought I read this in the owner's manual.

dual axle trailer solves this problem. ;)

The following is from Page 237 of the owners manual

you can also have it idle all the way through and put the transfer in N
but then the tree huggin hippies and your pocket will start bitching.

Thanks for the help. I guess she will have to look for something else. Maybe a FJ40 :grinpimp:

Which transmission/4wd system does she have?
