I know a lot of you guys are taking off your factory equipped hitches. Can someone please tell me what size blots the hardware is?
The PO took mine off as well but I have some towing to do and need it back on. I bought a used factory hitch for a fairly cheap price but they weren't able to save the hardware. I went to the dealership to try and find a factory bolt kit but it looks like it only comes with a new hitch purchase.
Does someone know off the top of their head or maybe have one laying around they can measure for me?

Thanks a ton in advance!

I think the bolt needs to be as long as the nut it threads through, plus the thickness of the frame plus the thickness of the mounting plate for the receiver. Anything less than the height of the frame should fit; so from about an inch long, to 4" long if the bolt is all threaded.

Or you could borrow a few bolts from the frame mounted tie down loops, to test fit the receiver.

Thanks for the reply! Will those tie down loops go back over the receiver before mounting or just ditch them? I prefer to keep them if I can.

I was thinking to use the bolts to hold on the receiver for now, until you can buy more; or it will give you some bolts to bring to the store when you want to say, "Please sell me some of these!"

When I go to the store to buy bolts or nuts from a bin, I like to have a sample with me. I's handy to confirm that some previous customer didn't drop a wrong part in the bin. Wrong length may not be a big issue for this particular use, but the bolts on the Toyota are not the common pitch for the threads. Bringing the old bolt gives you something to compare.

Well I didn't have a bolt to go by but I did go by what the others said the size 12mm x 1.25 with a washer and lock washer.
