Gotta have duct tape...
Fresh off the boat, and sadly rolled over hard. Oh well, I bought it at auction, so I suppose it was insured and one less FZJ80 in the world probably makes my other ones worth more...

Your prices are crazy for locked axles.Oh no !! So sorry this happened to your truck.
You can make some money parting it out. Factory locking axles are going for $2000 for the rear to $2500 for the front last I saw. I know someone looking for a motor in California.
You could buy an 80 with a straight body and blown motor, then swap over. It takes persistent searching, but they are out there.
You could cut the body off and install a cage around the truck. Then wheel the hell out of it.
Edit…right hand drive makes things more complicated.
There is some obvious damage to the suspension. An bent rear track bar and a bent leaking rear shock. Frame looks OK. Axles look OK. The new US owner flipped it after taking possession and getting it legal. Really sad for him. I though I would use the axles from it, but now I’m not so sure. I figured the steering components and knuckles would have to be changed, but I didn’t realize the Panhard rod would drop from the other side. Guess another mount could be fabricated up to convert it.Double Damn, looks like they dropped it 30 feet off the deck of the ship onto a concrete dock!!! Maybe they were unloading it off the ship using a crane, rigging came apart, vehicle flipped in the air and crashed to the dock??
Interior parts, relays, all engine, transmission and body harnesses, engine and accessories, transmission, keys ignition cylinder, glove box door/lock, door lock cylinders including from the rear hatch, window and door lock motors, ECM, ----
What are the chances the frame or axles got tweeked??
He just bought it that way.as someone that parts out 80s i would let insurance take that and walk away. i could not and would not sell enough off that to cover the cost of buying it. just pulling the engine would be such a pain thanks everything being bent and twisted. not worth the time. just let it go and start over with another. there is very little of value left in that one with as hard of a hit as it took.

And having thought about it now a couple days, parting it out is the plan. Was just contemplating unbolting the body and getting another complete shell, and swapping the RHD cowl, then bolting the new body down.He just bought it that way.
Sounds like you went into this kinda eyes open. And having thought about it now a couple days, parting it out is the plan. Was just contemplating unbolting the body and getting another complete shell, and swapping the RHD cowl, then bolting the new body down.
The Complete Japanese running gear was probably in good condition prior to the wreck.
On my Island there are very few parts resources, considering there is not a single used parts wrecking yard, and we are thousands of miles from the mainland. This LC came up at auction, and I thought I should buy it for the running gear and axles. I got it for $1008.
I have 2 other 80’s. One 93 that I just got running a month or so ago, and a 93 that is lifted and has ARB’s front and rear, that sat in a field unused for over 10 years after its owner passed away. The lifted FJ80 is missing some pieces, radiator gone, cats were stolen, frozen AC compressor, various missing small bits; and it needs to be resurected.
I also have a line on a fairly complete 80 that is sitting on a trailer since the axles were long ago pulled out from under it. I was also hoping to use the axles from this one, and I may still with some fabrication if I cannot find another front axle. The rear is the same, though the front panhard rod drops to the opposite side of a US spec 80.
I have another parts 80 that only has the full floating rear axle under it... That one is so rusted out and rough inside after decades abandoned in the jungle that it honestly has less in useful parts than this just rolled JDM cruiser. Really I just need a front axle to get that 80 Chassis rolling again.
Not sure exactly what parts are going where, but we are going to makes use of a lot of it. The hood still opens easily on the JDM, and the radiator is not damaged at all, so I don’t see a problem getting the drivetrain out of it.
Sounds like you went into this kinda eyes open.
Not positive if the panhard on the rear axle is the same direction or not. They may be offset to the front for suspension, I'm not sure. better check before you assume.
I think the engine and maybe frame are salvageable, and maybe some of the interior parts.
How many miles (KM) are on it?
Definitely pull all the switches and door locks and doo dads.
How are the front seats?
It also has the clear glass in the right side windows. Someone will want those.
Window motors, etc.
Good luck!
I don't think you got hurt too bad for $1000. You can still pull the third members to install on any truck you want, even though they are not locked. That way you have spares.
Also have a decent set of rims with one oddball tire.
You got my voteIt would sure be fun to put an Aqualu aluminum FJ45 inspired body they have that is designed to bolt on to this 80 series frame...
