Has anyone used the Torin 3 ton Jack stands. The seems to have good reviews on Amazon, and are a good price. Any feedback appreciated. Is torin a decent brand?

I've got the T46002A 6 ton double locking jack stands - got 'em for $40. Would definitely recommend the double locking feature and consider getting larger than 3T.

When I was looking into jack stands to buy, there was a thread here about someone that had their truck fall on them (jack stand collapsed) and they were using a 3T stand. I don't know or remember all the circumstances, but bigger jack stands seemed like a good idea. UPDATE: here are those threads -> https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-socal-80s/305105-bitch-tried-kill-me.html and https://forum.ih8mud.com/chit-chat-section/307482-harbor-freight-jack-stands-safety-warning.html

Also, the bigger stands have higher lift - just checked on Torin's site and the 3T only go to 16.5" whereas the 6T go to 23.8". I think a lot of folks on the board use 12T based on posts I've seen.

I can vouch for the 6T double locking and for just $40 it's pretty close in price to the 3Ts...

(Fwiw as far as jacks, I got the Arcan 35XLR from Costco for <100 and it goes up to 21.375" - had a hard time finding anything reasonably priced that went higher).

why did you move this, it was specific to the 100. I am not trying to hold a 40, i want to hold a 100

I use the Torin 3 ton on my other vehicles and they are fine. They just barely go high enough to support wheels-on work for the L.C., so I have a pair of 6 ton for the L.C.

X2 on the 6 ton double locking Torins, I use them as well! Overkill is not a bad thing when your working under your vehicle!

:meh:It probably got moved because your initial question didn't state any thing 100 specific.

I have the 12ton torin stands with the pawl locks. They are flippin great. Very sturdy I feel very safe under my rig when its on those stands.

Almost all jack stands are rated per pair, not per stand. IMHO a pair of 3 ton stands is way less than what is safe for holding up a 3 ton rig. I have two pairs of the Torin Double Locking 12 ton jack stands and they appear to be very good quality. I use both pairs when I'm under my 80 (with one axle still on the ground); two for the axle that's being lifted and two for under the frame as backup, wheels chocked and blocked.
Torin 12 ton jack stands.webp

I've got 4 Torin 6 Tons... This is one of the first things I picked up when I got my 100 and started doing my own maintenance... Wish i'd got the 12 Tons listed above now tho...

I bought the 12 ton to get the higher lift height...
