Hey Y'all, wanted to pull my bellhousing to grind for H55 clearance, and to helicoil the threads - bring them back to M12 x 1.25.

I got the flywheel off, pulled the starter and slave cylinder.

Then I got the 4 x 17mm bolts that live inside the bellhousing off. They came off with what felt like a reasonable amount of torque.

The top 2 x 17mm fasteners, up on the top of the bellhousing are another story. I needed a universal to reach above the bellhousing and clear the firewall. I could not loosen them w/ my breaker bar, it was starting to bend. A friend helped me out, he lay inside the Pig and reached down with an impact and gave those fasteners some ugga-ugga.

No dice. At that point we were both nervous about snapping the fasteners off.

Any thoughts? Words of wisdom?

Try to soak them with penetrant, heat? Uga dugga is better than breaker bar for loosing I’d say.

Milwaukee m18 1/2 drive impact gun

I will try to get some PB Blaster or Kroil up there.
Heat is probably not a possibility given the proximity to the firewall/dash.

Yes…
