How has your Q7 been reliability wise?

Fantastic, this is our second one.

First one was a 2010 I believe TDI and I freaking LOVED that thing but here in GA we were paying taxes up the A$$......

Main reason for trading it in for a new one is the $1000 in savings every year in taxes alone, downfall is the wife pulled a fast one on me last minute (its hers) and went Gas/Petrol rather than diesel and by the time I realized it was too late.... but still its an awesome vehicle.

Only pet peeve is cost after your maintenance contract runs out and space, plenty on the rear but center console and glove compartments are a joke. But elegance, quality, power and technology are all there.

I helps that we take care of our cars too, too much I guess.

Appreciate it. DIdn't understand the tax thing, but that isn't relevant to me, as I all 7 of my cars and 4 bikes are all registered in MT, so don't pay no taxes, and do lifetime registration.

With that out of the way, how many miles did your 2010 have and how many miles do you have now on the new one? Do you recommend the service contract? Could you estimate some costs of service after the contract?

Appreciate the help.

Every year here we used to pay the LUXURY tax based on the cost/value of the vehicle..... needles to say we were getting raped. Then they changed that a couple years ago and now you pay up front and its only $25 every year for tag.

40 something K...... I believe, and the new one somewhere around 14k I want to say....

No clue as we have always gotten the contract and never kept them past that :-)

But I have been there when other people take theirs for service without contract and BROTHER...... ranging from regular service $500 to 600 to much more than that.

Mine needs front break pads and they quoted $1300 ..... WOT????? Parts are only $140

With that said, as much as I love this car it might be our last one, trying to convince the wife to get a 4Runner Limited, I can work on that darn thing blindfolded.

Don't get the limited

It has the worst front end design of any Toyota ever

Get the trail or the pro with the aggressive face

I hear you there, but I still wouldn't get any of those, I much rather get an SR5 Premium like the one I had, I truly never understood the hype on those.

Great thread!

So I searched through the classifieds and couldn't find a "Trade" specific group so here goes nothing for my 200 guys.....

Moderator please feel free to delete if this is not allowed...... and kindly send me to the right place to post.

I can either post them for sale locally but really more interested in someone that's open to trading.

I have a brand new set of OME 2722 rear coils for the 200, just as they went on they came off a day later, too tall for my taste and a bit of a rough ride as I don't have a rear bumper at this time.

I am looking for a set of OME 2721's, don't mind buying them new but just wanted to see if there was someone out there in the same frame of mind and situation.

Thanks guys.

Nice build!

How do you like the Prestigious setup?

Thanks dude, I love it but it can be a little finicky to activate and deactivate.

Unlike other systems I used on the 4runner this one doesn't come with an external button but instead you activate/deactivate with the volume up/down buttons on steering wheel.... (twice up twice down). Got to be very consistent on the speed you do it for it to work, but other than that amazing device and it works with a very simple and straight forward install.

I concur. Simple and straight forward install. Easy to use. Have been thumb challenged a few times when trying to activate or deactivate it.

Here you go.

Heading out......
.

would it be possible to get a measurement from the top of the wing thing to the end of the gobi ladder, i am trying to determine if the ladder will fit between the clearance between the top of the liftgate and the frontrunner rack i have. Either way i am so in love with this truck!!

Thomas, first I want you to know that seeing that Gobi rack on your truck (and seeing kevinfouch's in person) sold me. Install is 4 weeks away. I have Gobi doing the install and wiring for lights. But I'm not sure on what light configuration I should do. I am going to start a thread asking about rack mounted-lighting if I can't find one. Could use your input on that as I see you have a light bar.

Also, good to hear that you found the OME 2722s to be too stiff/firm without a bumper or such. Though I don't think I'll do the suspension upgrade until I get more miles on my stock suspension when I do it I want to be careful not to "over do" it and make things too stiff. So I expect the answer will be the 2721s for me.

Some would say the 2016/2017 LX has the worst front end design of any Toyota ever.

And I own one. It's certainly as odd as the 4Runner.

The wife's 2015 4Runner took a while to grow on me. I really do like it now. The 20" wheels are pointless.

And this is how she sits TODAY, had the hood wrapped and "LandCruiser" embossed underneath the wrap..... also had clear applied to the area behind the Gobi ladder (I can see the kids or me scratching the paint).

So we just baptized the LC on its first long family roadtrip (all things considered about 2900 miles) ...... all in one week.

We had some amazing times, main cities visited were (as marked on the map) Niagara Falls (Canada side), Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Boston and DC.
