Arghh. After finishing my newly painted interior, I've noticed a couple drops of brake fluid from the clutch master cyl on the paint job. PO rebuilt it maybe 3-4 years ago. I've got a new master, slave, and stainless hose on order.
Thankfully, it's a rattle can paint job and can be easily touched up.

got the day off yesterday due to no power on my island. and cleaned up the yard from Irene damage and had time to swap out my starter on the v8 to a mini torque reduction starter (much nicer starting now)

also started mapping out the wiring for my dual batt setup.I got a hefty list of to do's to do before FG nice to check one off

Headgasket, oil pump, the whole engine needed to be resealed.
The bearings and cylinder walls look normal as far as I have heard.

The new radiator showed up today so I need to scoot that up to him on Thursday.

Should feel like a new truck with the amount of work going into it. The 4:88 regear should help as well, especialy while towing.
 
Bob... what did you go with for a radiator? I just noticed some leaking out of my lower tank. I'm looking at the Koyo aluminum/plastic.
 
I went with a Koyo c series. Seems like everything I read was positive about them and they are pretty much OEM quality. I think I paid about $260 shipped.
If you are looking for further info I can get the info on where I bought it from for you.
 
Fixed my wiper motor on the 40. Had to swap out the guts of one unit into a different case.
Didn't run when I was done, took it back apart this morning and noticed that there is an adjustment screw which tightens or loosens the pressure on the main shaft of the motor. Loosened that up and all was fine.
Was pretty surprised when I took the old motor apart and saw how corroded the guts were. Amazing that the thing ran as long as it did. Now I have to figure out why the heater blower quit.
 
Heater motor? It probably overheated with this hot summer weather. Just put heated seats in it and you won't need a heater, just a blanket and a hoodie. :crybaby:
 
Took advantage of the rainy day to get some wrench time on the 40 finished pulling of the nose, hood and windshield frame, got the motor and tranny already to pull out and have the tub ready to pull off the frame, when I can get alittle extra help other then Brody and Ellie. Saturday got some wrench time on the 60 little tune up and parts to fix the exhaust I blew off it 2 weeks ago even beat out couple of the dents in the pass doors.

Kenny and I will come up and help you out. Also Bob is in town I bet he would help out.
 
Fixed the heater, started on a mount for the winch control.
 
Can do either next sunday or early next week, I will bring the boom truck home no sense working to hard on it :hillbilly:.
 
Wouldn't be till sometime in the later afternoon on Sunday.
Planning to head up to Maine on Sunday and spend a day or two at the cottage in Old Orchard, depending on the weather.
Then heading north to our other Cottage on Belgrade lakes for a few days and then up to the North Maine Woods.
Let me know what days work and when and where we can have a few drinks!
 
My "other project" floated today for the first time. Still waiting on a few cables, etc to make it run, but its the first time in 4+ years this thing has seen ANY water time.

Brought home like this: Just about a year ago. No floors, no transom, stringer boxes cut open pretty much completely torn down.
