Randy, Troopy is looking good, nice to see the pile of parts assembled.
Have you fired the motor yet?
Thanks, to you for helping assemble parts! We have not fired the motor yet, but hopefully will next trip up there soon. It needs the fuel lines/filters/pump run and power.

Wally's spending to much time farming and not enough time wrenching!
We want to see the Troopy at the FG!

Sorry I didn't wheel this weekend. I worked a 20 hour shift at the end of an 80 hour work week and thought driving up to NH on 4 hours sleep may not be a great idea.

I can't sit home and collect ARP benefits like you, you old fawk......... :flipoff2:

PS trucks not trail worthy. Blown headgasket.

Hard to feel bad for a guy who has a real job and making decent money in this economy. If it was me, I'd be very happy.

Sorry about the HG issue, but you haven't wheeled since the Spring Meeting. Is there too much pressure at the top?;).

BTW, there are no benefits from AARP, they just take your bucks and promote their own a liberal agenda. Mostly they are a just another PAC.

I think most of this ****chat should be in the daily chat thread. Isn't this suppose to be wrenching? Can you move it?

Not so bad on your part overall, although the tubing weld looks a bit sketchy to me. I ain't so proud of my own welds to post them up for critique. Kudos to you Tom.

Penetration is the key. My recommendation for myself and whomever is the following: if any weld is in an area that could be a safety issue, have it done professionally or examined closely by someone who is.

No Larry, once again your wrong....or going senile in your old age.
I wheeled at Rausch in the Coal Mine Cruiser Classic with Gotham City Landcruiser.
If you would like to not fill up "Todays Wrenching" with epic failures of trying to insult me please put your next stab at me over there and I'll be glad to disarm your feeble attacks there.

Dismissed:flipoff2:

I AM SO ashamed. Senility did make me forget Rausch. :o

Let's forgive and forget over a PBR, I'll buy!

Birfs? Wasn't that the big ticket item that you have been trying to get done?
Though the PHH is important......

I'd skip the fancy PHH stuff and just go with some good gates hose and a couple of Toyota tension clamps. That's all I ever do. That silicone hose is a bitch to get on and since silicone doesn't bond to metal like rubber it tends to be more prone to leaks.

I bought this ages ago and threw it in the glove box. It's the black and green gates hose, not the blue silicone.

that stuff will bond but it's still going to be a challenge to get in place. It's a heavy wall hose and not very flexible. Any lubricant to help the hose slide on will likely interfere with the bonding process.

Last time I pulled the tranny dip stick tube and starter to get enough room to change this out. Not my favorite job for sure.

I bought the kit with the long hose that eliminates the metal
pipe.
Went on pretty easy. (I'm lazy)

How do you find all this free time to spend out in your shop?
Seems like the only time I can get in mine is in January and its
to damn cold to do anything.

I also used the green stripe when I did this before the trip west and it was a major pain to get on. Took me 10 minutes to get the old hose off and almost 2 hours to get the new one on. My hands were not feeling so good after, really took some effort to line the new hose up and get it on. I did not take the starter out but if it helps at all do it. Good luck!
