I wear many "heads" as I have many vehicles.
Subject header says it all. I'm thinking as the gaskets (?) are cracked, that I clean them out and hit them with some sort of silicone caulk. Or, jettison them all together.

Depends on your personal taste. No one can make that decision for you. You either like the flared look or you do not.

I'm waffling- I'm trying to figure out the benefit.
I redid the rubber trim on my black 80 a couple years ago. Bought them from a guy here on MUD. Really easy and made a big difference appearance wise. I think all colors but white use the black seal. White 80’s used the white trim seals which is unavailable now or at least it was a couple years ago.
My rubber trim still looked ok, so when I put the rear bumper on I just trimmed the flares to fit. Had that rubber trim looked bad I might have just pulled them. But with 14.5" wide tires, the flares do help somewhat with the mud - so there is that practical element to consider.
Another consideration for keeping the flares is the tire extending beyond the body. In NC you are fine, but other states do not allow it and some highway LEO's enjoy ticketing out of state vehicles for silly crap like that. They need the revenue.

I fought getting rid of them for awhile, just did. I do think it looks cleaner, tires do stick out a bit. Its a mixed bag

looks great; what did you use to plug the flare holes? I’m just using little pieces of duct tape right now lol

I got a shop to weld them up and blend back. They also did the roof holes

My tires poke a little and while I prefer the flared look, I don't want to deal with the maintenance.
