Hello MUDders,
My name is Tomas, my initials: TLC—fitting for a lifelong Toyota Land Cruiser enthusiast. I’ve been neck-deep in Toyota/Lexus vehicles for as long as I can remember and have owned more than my fair share of them over the years. Live in Dallas, born in west tx. I’ve had the pleasure of owning an 80 Series, 100 Series (lx 470), a 2019 Prado (GX), a 5th Gen 4Runner Trail Premium, a Tacoma, and countless other vehicles. Each one has taught me something new about capability, simplicity, and why Toyota continues to dominate when it comes to dependability and functionality.
My goal is to blend OEM comfort with functional, tasteful modifications that suit real-world adventure and family travel—without overbuilding or losing what makes the 200 so special.
I’ll post updates as the build progresses, add parts lists, and eventually some trip reports as well. Always open to advice and gear suggestions—feel free to chime in.

My Current Whip:
In 2024, After a 2/3 year search I picked up a 2018 Blizzard Pearl Toyota Land Cruiser with Terra interior, purchased from a dealer out in San Angelo, TX. It wasn't perfect but I had missed out on several color combos I wanted so I pulled the trigger. I opted for the Toyota Platinum care and the dealer performed 2 PDR plus a bunch of routine maintenance. My goal is to blend OEM comfort with functional, tasteful modifications that suit real-world adventure and family travel—without overbuilding or losing what makes the 200 so special.
Goals:
- Reliable cruiser for trips and light Texas wheeling
- Keep it road-trip comfortable while adding off-road utility
- Document the modifications, maintenance and contribute to the amazing Cruiser community
Previous Cruisers/Toyotas:
- 1998 80 Series – Solid axle simplicity and a true off-road workhorse w/cloth interior. I miss it
- 2001 100 Series (LX 470) – Balanced & refined
- 2019 Prado (Lexus GX) – Loved the size, capability & Luxury
- TSS Taco & 5th Gen 4Runner Trail Premium – Both fun and functional. The 5th Gen 4R is where I fell in love with adding personal touches/mods
Why This Thread:
This page is meant to document, centralize, and share my build with fellow Cruiser-heads—especially other 200 Series owners who are walking the line between OEM refinement and off-road capability.I’ll post updates as the build progresses, add parts lists, and eventually some trip reports as well. Always open to advice and gear suggestions—feel free to chime in.
