Made by Ben @Dissent offroad.
Mine took some persuasion. A little line relocation (gentle pulls backwards) seemed to take care of it. I know that you’re loath to disturb the powder coat, but clearancing the plate is probably fine. Avoid shape angles cuts into the plate.Has anyone ran into problems mounting the TJM winch plate? It looks like an AC line is getting in the way. I guess my options are to adjust the plate or try and bend the AC line out of the way? The photo shows the winch plate contacting the line but not all the way back where I can bolt it up.View attachment 2250694

Thank you. I’m always scared to pull on expensive oem lines. I did what you said and bent them into compliance. It’s close to the crossmember and winch plate so I think I will pad it with something.Mine took some persuasion. A little line relocation (gentle pulls backwards) seemed to take care of it. Mine wasn't even close to that. If I recall, the winch plate mounts under the other two layers, lowering it enough to fit below those lines. I don't think its designed to work by itself.
I can confirm later, I am taking my bumper off today/tomorrow to bedline my truck and do a winch install.
I know this thread is old but can anyone take a quick picture of how they wired their fog lights up on the T17? I’m still not getting it to work and rather than blowing a fuse it’d be great to visually see it correctly ha thanks in advance for any help guys! Be safe out there!
Seconded, I actually held off wiring these up as I was a little bit confused myself. I too would appreciate a visual aid.
Does anyone know if I would be able to add a winch plate later on, or do I have to order it with it already?
That's what I was thinking, but with my luck, you never know. Thanks a lot.I can’t see any reason you wouldn’t be able to add the winch tray later.
Might want to read back through this thread.... I believe you have to remove the bumper to put on a winch plate later just FYI.That's what I was thinking, but with my luck, you never know. Thanks a lot.
Not too worried about taking the bumper off later down the road. I wouldn't plan to add a winch for another year at least, as I already have a good come along that hasn't let me down yet. But it is something I will be considering, so I appreciate the input. I'm slowly making my way through 27 pages with a notebook and pen in hand.CC is right- to add the winch plate you have to go all the way back to the start. I know it feels like an unnecessary expense right now, but mounting the bumper without the plate now may create alignment issues later when you go back to add it. My front end was tweaked, so mine may have been a special case.
As for the lights, mine are all taped up, so no longer accessible, but I’m pretty sure the ? was answered earlier in the thread.
Looks great! Which red recovery points are you using there?View attachment 2289879View attachment 2289882
I got my TJM installed and I’m loving it. This has to be one of the best for the money bumpers you can buy.
