TIS Techstream - Customization Options for LC200 (1 Viewer)

Was reading through this and wanted to add this tip if you don't have a windows XP laptop: I was able to create a TIS account on the website, pay for a 2-day license ($50 iirc), download the latest TIS software, install it on windows 7, use it with a cable purchased on ebay, and it worked to modify all my settings for my '16 LC.

I had lots of trouble getting it to work on earlier versions and I also wanted to make sure I had a version that would work for all the features on a 2016 model. Paying for basically a one-time use on the latest version just gave me peace of mind that I got everything I could configure done.

I had a misconception that this was a hacked version of private Toyota software because in my past I've done this process with BMW and their software is not available to the public. It was neat to find out that the general public can go on their site, pay a fee, and download/use the software.

What options have you customized from the latest TIS version?

What options have you customized from the latest TIS version?
I honestly don't know what's different from the earlier versions, they may all be able to see the same stuff. The only things I customized were

  • making the passenger door unlock when I hit the unlock button on the remote (this was actually available via the setup menu)
  • making a "hold down" of the unlock button roll down all the windows and slide back the moon roof (I wish there was an option like on BMW's to make a "hold down" of the lock button roll all the windows back up and close the moon roof, but I'll survive)
  • making the cruise control options stay the same once modified (1 bar vs 3 bars) even if you turn it off and on again (I understood this to be the vehicle off and on again, but turning the vehicle off and on again will reset the cruise settings, so I guess it's just when you turn cruise off and on)
  • making the headlights stay on for 60 seconds after the vehicle is turned off vs 30 seconds (personal preference for reasons)
  • modifying various volumes and timers to my liking
Overall, I didn't find anything lifechanging in the menus for me. I expected more options like there are on BMW's (you can customize just about everything and you can unlock options that are not meant for your car).

Does anyone know what is required in order to reset the dealer service required notification on a 2016?

Is that in Techstream or where?

Mid cluster setting has a reset which resets to 10k miles. I hope this is what you are looking for.

I want to be able to reset the 8560 miles. Does anyone know how?

You got it like in the picture you have posted. The cluster resets to 10k. You cannot reset to 8500. I use the nav reminders to set specific dates and millage. Those two reminders seems to work independently.

Thanks. I meant reset to 10. It's currently at 8,500. That was just a pic I took. Much appreciated

If anyone has the OBD2 USB dongle but needs Techstream 10.30.029, PM me and I can share a link

This does not work on 2016.

Have a question... is there any difference between the cables claiming to support 32 bit and the ones claiming 32/64 bit compatibility? The listings claiming 64 bit compatibility are twice the price of other listings. It appears the sellers are just offering a different version of software because the listings I see share the same version code on the sticker on the cable. Does anyone know if there is a difference?

I don't have multiple cables to test, but I can say that I bought a cable set some time back that came with the 32-bit software (TIS version 8.X). Have since updated my computers and that same cable works in 64-bit Win 10 Pro (TIS version 11.X).

Thanks very much. I figured it was just a difference in software.

When doing the initial setup are you registering the software? The screens on the Welcome to TIS don't match up with the instructions. I enter the key given in the instructions but it doesn't register. Any pointers?
