Hey fellas. One of my bfg mud terrains blew yesterday and since I haven't been rotating the spare, I really don't want to throw it in. I've found a set of swampers for the time being until I can buy a new set.
I currently have 35's and so are the set that I found.
How even is the wear on all 4 tires has to be in order to save myself any headaches IRW different diameters and not fxxxing anything up? Apparantly 2 of this tires are more worn than the other 2.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I can't say definitively, but I would think they need to be within a couple of millimeters. Otherwise you could end up grenading your center diff.

millimeters? i doubt millimeters would make a big difference. you run into issues when running vastly different sized tires such as a 31 spare on 3 other 35 tires but even then you can run that temporarily to get you home. what is the tread percentage on your tires now?

Nothing to contribute, but my tread delaminated last week while driving on the freeway. I feel your pain.

Good luck!!!

you will give that Viscous coupler hell if you run differant size tires. make sure they are all overall the same size.

i always tried to stay away from 16.5 as it is hard to find tires that size in case you are on the trail and busted a tire

I drove with 2 AT 33s and 2 MT 33's from December until last week. No problems developed as a result.

The ATs were on the front, MTs on the back

Can't you just find a used BFG and put that on until you get funds for the new set?

yeah, i hate that 16.5 is nearly impossible to find good tires with. i bought a set of 17 inch tundra wheels split spoke, I’m still stuck between bfgoodrich or toyo mts.
i have the spare on, it just hasn't been rotated and its the original style. i don’t want to drive around on it too much as its cracked everywhere and i don’t trust it.
now to find the best price on my two choices.

When can I look forward to this happening? Have been replacing 2 tires at a time, so the rear tires always have ~twice the tread as the front.:hillbilly:

the tread shouldn't make that much of a difference. your axle has to make up a lot more when you turn a corner then the difference in tread. but if your tire is cracked, like you say, it could fail. if the swampers are a decent price and come with rims, run them and replace with new tires on your rims when you have the dime and try to recoup money then by selling rollers to someone building a rig.

never had one completely delaminte, but this scared the crap out of me. fwiw, swampers are not known to be good hi mph tires.
