I’ve looked through lots of threads but wanted to pose the question yet again, on tires and wheels for my ‘74 fj40. If you have any information on part numbers or where to source, please let me know. I’d really appreciate it. I’d like to go with a somewhat original style wheel, looking something like this:

Oem in your pictures
And aftermarket in your other picture

Stock wheels are still available from Toyota; the part number has been posted here a bunch of times. Let me see if I can find it for you.

Edited to add:

Here you go, part number 42601-60072

Perfect, thank you. What tires work best for these wheels?

Whatever you like for tires. The new Kenda Klever MT/s are really nice looking, but it will be a little while before they come out. KO3s, Maxxis Razr MT or ATs, lots of options for the tall and skinny 33s.

Thanks for all the input! I think once I figure out the money aspect of it, I’ll go with OEM 15’ steelies and paint them the original color which I believe is smoke grey or something of the like. I’ll get the hubcaps from CCOT or someone on Mud if their cheaper. I love the look of the Bf Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 33X10.5R15 114R RWL and believe it to be right for what I need, but they seem pretty pricey. Hopefully I’ll get lucky in the classifieds with these. This of course is just the start of many more expenses coming up, but I’m trying to get a good idea of expenses. Thanks for the help.

I just got oem 15” wheels from Toyota, painted them Rustoleum smoke gray and put 33x10.50 General Grabber X3’s on. They’ll all get original hubcaps I have. You can still buy hubcaps from Toyota for $18-22 each so be careful where you buy them. With weight on them, they all measure 32.25” or real close to it.

Those do look very nice, I’ll have to take a look. And thanks for the hubcap info, another thing I didn’t know Toyota still had.

Sent you a PM…
