You can see my extra crossmember in mine used a piece of 2x4 .25 channel behing the main shell.
One question i had, of course i was using tube and you are using sheet so you have more flexability, is following the goofy body line at the very back of the truck. It moves upward and inward. Your wing seems to follow it well but i cant tell if before you angle down to hit the rear bumper is that section higher than the end of fhe wing clostest to the tire?
Thanks
Can I have that cardboard?
The cardboard will be cheaper than a bumper to shipI will post patterns and parts list once I am done so others can borrow from the design.
Quick question about setting up to weld in your garage, how much space do you need between your work and the other **** that lives in your garage - surf boards, camping gear, bikes etc (the cars live outside) - to be fire safe, etc

will you be welding this to the frame, or leaving it bolted up?
looks good!
Looking killer. I didn't see where you said you got the spindle kits from. Looking forward to next update!

This has got to be one of my favorite/helpful build threads of all time!! Before reading this post I had no clue on how to start building my own rear bumper. Not only did you breakdown the parts and cost, you included the design, and showed me how to cut the steel as well (I had no idea you could use a saw). Now I just need to learn how to use my new welder. Thanks for the time you put into this, it's exactly what I've been looking for!!
