Syd Dorn has a good reputation locally, and I purchased an Audi S4 from his brokerage years ago. The car was perfect, and exactly as presented in his sale ad then (2008?).Just based on the few photos available this looks like someone built it to keep verses some of the pigs that have popped up lately that look they were fixed up to flip.
Having built a 55 with a 4BT I don’t believe you could build this pig for the asking price even if you did all paint and fab work yourself.
From the ad “Syd Dorn is an auto broker assisting the private owner in this sale” so getting accurate info on the build could be convoluted unless Syd is willing to put you in contact with the owner if he’s still alive. I say this because if you see my 55 pop up on Craigslist for $37,000 you know I’m dead and my wife is trying to broker my stuff for what I told her it cost to build.
After looking again it is still posted in Portland Craigslist.Looks like its gone ....
That is easy to believe, if they told me he had 80k into this pig I wouldn't question that number.Receipts for build not counting paint totaled over $59,000
Congratulations that pig looked like a great deal, please head down to the pig section and post some more pictures when you get it.I am the new owner of this pig.
My last pig, the rear window went down with dashboard switch, but only up with key in tailgateHi. It arrived last night. Dirty as sin. I put the back window down so I could remount the rear tire / ladder license plate holder and now the window won’t budge. I’m going to look through the forums for help. Front and rear heater fans are also dead.
BUT I do LOVE IT. Nothing I didn’t expect
I’m going to try that. ThanksMy last pig, the rear window went down with dashboard switch, but only up with key in tailgate
Key in tailgate was all it took. Thanks so much. Now I can get to the car wash then worry about the heater fans from t and back.Could be in a bind for a number of reasons. My rear window goes down ok but I have to help it up due to tight aftermarket channel weatherstrip. My switch and motor are fine...but it also has some sort of relay that will kill power to the motor for a bit if it senses a bind. Could be a broken plastic gear inside the motor...there is a metal replacement. Also check the safety switch on the driver side inside on the body inside the tailgate.
