exterior looks fantastic...looks like a respray. shows well.

dash is wrecked!
frame has some rust but looks to be surface
knuckles probably need rebuild

without any maintenance records 16,5 is top dollar...but if records exist that it has been well cared for - 16,5 seems not unreasonable.
that truck would likely fetch that or close on BAT.

these Veg-ass showrooms make me think they're just flipping it...which makes me think they just slapped some nice wheels and tires on it and maybe a quick respray and trying to make a quick profit?

figure you'll spend another 1000 to 2000 right away so you'll be into it 18,5 - and if it needs anything serious and you're not able to do it yourself you'll soon be closing in on 20k invested.

but you'll be rolling a seriously sweet looking truck.

if it were a mud member selling it for 16,5 and had any records it would be fair

if it were a mud member selling it for 16,5 and had any records it would be very fair

Thanks for the insight!

Do your homework on those dealerships.

Their reputation is well-documented on the internet.

For almost $17k, I would definitely pass. While the paint looks good from a far it looks like a really, really cheap respray. You can see it best with the overspray on the hinges for the rear hatch and the inside of the hatch is a different color. It makes you wonder whats hiding beneath that paint.

Also the interior is in pretty rough shape with a bunch of cracks in the dash and stains and what not. There is some surface rust on the front bumper and other areas as mentioned and it will definitely need a knuckle rebuild.

I personally would walk from this vehicle but if you're really eager to buy it I'd say it falls in the $7-8k range personally...anything more would be a gamble.

Check your local craigslist ads - there's some really solid survivors out there for half the price of this one.

good catch on the overspray - that's not a sign of a quality job

and the missing right rear marker light

There is a really solid Landcruiser for sale in Flagstaff for $7,000.

It would be a great buy if it's a northern AZ car and not too rusty.

1984 Land Cruiser

Would at least be worth talking to him and getting some more pictures.

I agree $16,600 is way too much.

Why only re-spray and nothing else??? Maybe to hide something??

They didn't even clean the passenger seat... that would take 5 mins???

I would bet they got it on a trade or at an auction and have $4-$5k in it... including the $200 re-spray.

Just my two cents

These guys are consignment dealer.

That's what they do.

The ONLY party who always wins with consignment sales is the dealer. IMO, Buyers get the worst of it. A consignment dealer can (and likely will) disavow any and all knowledge of the vehicle after they receive payment.
