craigslist Thoughts on this 89 FJ62?

1989 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FJ62 LOW MILES RUST FREE 4X4 TRUCK

Still looking for a 62 in this price range and this one just popped up.

I’m always skeptical of an ad typed up like this...

No enough experience to say but at least they have some undercarriage shots. That's a start.

This has been off and on Craigslist since I think August or September... I’m not sure why it hasn’t sold...

I'm skeptical and annoyed by the NO RUST claims only to see the frame is coated in surface rust...it's still rust.

Look at the A pillar, rust in the seam.

It sounds like the guy is a used car salesman but the price seems realistic. I think it would be worth going to see it in person if you are a couple hour drive away.

62's are rare to start with and in that condition even rarer. If your goal is to keep it mostly stock it might be worth check of the Vin# and a test drive. Maybe I missed it somewhere but I don't see any mention of the mileage...??

I at first didn’t the mileage either, but in the YouTube video he links in the Craigslist ad...he mentions 240k miles. A little high for what I’m looking for..

And I do recall seeing this one pop up before. I have my doubts

Nothing beats having someone you trust look it over or getting a look at it in person.

Usually if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Plus the fact this one's been for sale a while doesn't help the cause. If it was a real deal it would've been sold by now.

Check it out if your close, and if it checks out and you're comfortable with buying it, buy it.

Ha....its 30 years old....thats 8000 miles a year. These trucks just go and go and go and go. If their maintenance is done there is no reason to fear a 240k truck.
