Hard to judge it’s offroad prowess when they are using a coursev designed specifically to showcase its capabilities help provide some dramatic looking footage for the press people

But it does look good and I’m sure both the GX and the 250 will be plenty capable machines

Folks...can we please manage to NOT get another thread locked by the Heavy Handed not-so-benevelont leader? :P

No seriously...I've been waiting for initial reports to come out on how this vehicle handles on anything more than a showroom floor or a 1/4 mile strip of pavement.

Yes, this is a course designed by Lexus, but it's still fairly informative as the latest generation systems seem to be more refined, which IMO is good to hear. Also, it's good to know that the 10 speed AT + TTV6 seems to be complimentary for one another.

Looking forward to more reviews and hopefully they take this rig out to the sand dunes/beaches, where my family likes to spend a significant amount of their time when vacationing.

Driving Off-Road is not much of a mystery. The 4X4 system is famously effective so the other main thing is articulation and those pictures tell the story.

Things like MTS, cameras, etc. are just convenience features.

So sure, both will be plenty capable Off-Road with the 250 having a slight edge because of plastic and the GX having a bigger edge because of E-KDSS. But unless one is hauling it to / from the tail both will live the vast majority of its life on payment and there they are different animals.

Toyota = working class = $
Lexus = upper class = $$$

I would assume you have to pay more for a Lexus or it would not be a premium brand. Both can have 4 wheels, it is the quality of the wheels and the seats, engine, etc.
Make good decisions and buy what you can afford. Or if you need to buy status, get a Mercedes G-wagon!

The irony is that the brand most commonly driven by high wealth americans is Toyota. Lexus is #4. Most common individual model is F150.

Status in real life = Toyota.

Both are Toyota. As one of them the only reason Lexus was ruled out was the ridiculous plastic. Zero to do with status.
