I tried to polish the old headlight but they hazed up again. I ended up ordering new sport headlights from eBay. Seem like quality product from depot

I picked up the GX today from the body shop. I fit the bumper lights, splash guards and the rubber bumpers. I very happy with how it turned out. I will post more pics in a few days.

Have a few updates to the island GX build. Finally installed the sliders and got the bumper fog lights and LED off road lights wired up. I also popped the Cherry on the GX by taking her off road finally! Went up Goat hill on the east end of St. Croix by the large radio dish. She performed flawlessly. Tackling the shale type rock and climbing over huge ruts and chunky rocks like they were pebbles. Airing down the tires is key. And releasing the quick disconnects on the rear sway bar made all the difference. I love this cruiser!

Great build. Here's another one just north of you in St. Thomas. Steep price but with unbelievable low miles!

Damn thats expensive! Looks clean but the roads there wear on vehicles pretty hard. Dont think he will get what he wants for that!

Well sadly my Pearl 04 GX is no more. After surviving 2 Cat 5 Hurricanes here in the United Stated Virgin Islands with minor scratches and damage I was side swiped by a drunk driver a few weeks after the storm and my rear axle was bent and front suspension damaged. The OPOR sliders took a good hit but couldn’t save the rear axle. After a lengthy wait on my insurance claim I finally was paid out for my Lexus. After the insurance check and selling off my pride and joy I have enough funds to buy my next overland project. Pics that follow are of the accident that claimed my beautiful off road GX.

Yes that is a bottle of vodka the guy that hit me is carrying . There were also military police imbedded with the local cops after the storm keeping everyone honest. Extra protection.
That sucks, I lost my '96 Hilux Surf when someone T-boned me, rolled my truck, and then took off. Hope you're able to find another you're happy with for the settlement amount. Are you able to retain the salvage from insurance?

After searching for a month I booked a flight to Charlotte NC to see family and go Lexus hunting. I narrowed my search to a handful of options and finally settled on a silver 08 GX with 135,000 miles that was clean southern vehicle and good service history and clean car fax. Price was fair at 13,500 so I made the deal. Unfortunately the second day after purchasing it the check engine light came on. After having it looked at it’s a $1600 dealer fix of the secondary air pump for the emissions. F#%*!! After reaserching this I purchased the bypass kit for $350. Expensive but cheaper than the stealership. Since my time was limited in the states I decided to go ahead and ship the vehicle back to the island and finish the repairs down there. So I shipped the Lexus on a car hauler to Miami from NC and then cargo ship to St. Croix. I should pick it up sometime this week once it clears customs. After the car hauler, cargo ship ride, customs and road tax I’m looking about $2700 . Worth it to get what you want. Cost a little extra to live in paradise. Photos below are of the GX getting the spoiler installed in NC prior to shipping. More photos to come once I take delivery. Parts are starting to come in and pile up waiting for install.

And while the body shop was installing the new spoiler that came with it sitting in the cargo area they mysteriously shattered the rear glass. No one saw it happen Hope this GX is not cursed. 2 hour install turned into 2 days while they repaired the rear glass.
