We had a good first weekend cutting up the truck, made lots of progress. Saturday pretty much consisted of grinding and sawzalling the body and the ass end of the frame. Sunday John, Josh, and I cut off the sliders and mocked up where we plan on moving them up to. The next part is to weld the sliders back on about 4 in. higher than they were originally and then start on the cage....

Here is a picture similar to the last one, except the 80 has rear tires on...

Awesome! Looking good man. Where are you guys working on this truck? Is it in Atlanta?

Thanks! We are working on it at another members shop in Buford.

Looking for Opinions/Ideas on the rerouting the exhaust...I am cutting the cats out, because they are so bulky and low, but I want to try and find a new way to reroute the exhaust...

That's a hell of a good start. Post up when the next work day is going to be.

Are you going to have a muffler and stuff or just straight pipe it? If you're going to straight pipe it, I would just run the pipe past where the seats are going to be so it won't be so noisy and just dump it.

If you have oxygen sensors after the cats the computer might not like seeing them gone. Hopefully it will just run rich.

Has 2 O2 sensors, but they are both before the cat...I dont care if the check engine light stays on, I just want some better clearance in the exhaust area...

That is good to know about the o2 system. My last truck I wheeled had four o2 sensors and the engine would run like crap when they went bad.

Ive been tinkering with some ideas this week...

First pic is what I am thinking about for the cage (red is outside, blue is middle, green is the "tire swing down"

Second pic is my tire swing down idea

Thir picture is front bumper idea

Everyone usually shows up around 10 or 11...

Anything good happen on this today? Sorry I missed helping out hopefully you at least got started on the cage.

Weekend Work Day #2 went quite well and we couldnt have asked for better weather. Not a single drop of rain fell and the clouds never even got dark. Even though Josh and Dave were missed, it was great to have Sid and Dennis come by and help with the build. Sid came by about noon (and even brought extra beer) and helped with everything from bending tube to tack welding. Dennis came by just in time to help get the cruiser running and to see how hideously loud it was when running the exhaust straight off the headers. John and Ted were as helpful as usual, doing atleast a little bit of everything.

Progress Made Today:
1. John mocked up some rails for the driver seat so it can fit on the factory tracks. I have suspension seats that adjust :grinpimp:

2. Made and tacked up new legs for the sliders (Moved the sliders up about 4 in. so they are "flush" with the floor board of the 80

3. Started to make the drivers side of the cage

4. Tacked up a beefy rear crossmember/bumper
