It comes up once a month anyway lets just get it over with. Albeit a tad early.

It's a damper that is intended to stop frame vibrations at some speeds. Leave it there or ditch it, nobody seems to notice much difference either way.

Exactly what damper thing are you refering to? Is it the one by the passenger side running board?

Is this a "chunk of steel dampener" thing? My car has one of these also..

Cue the reference pic...

Hey could we get a pic for reference?

OK, so what else can we use them for?

I'm saving them up to put on my other trucks so they will ride smooth like the LC does!

Or maybe I could warm it by the fire and put it in the bottom of my bag at night... looks like a good thermal mass...

What else?

It's an acoustic modem...

It's not even February yet. I remember using one of those. I bet I was 12 years old. That would make it 1985.

I was just thinking "Dang, Far must be pretty old". And then I did the math and realized that I was 14 in 1985. :crybaby:

But then I got happy again when I realized my wife was only 5.

My 100 must have been built in the southern hemisphere since my damper was on the driver side. Wonder if I'm getting better mileage now that 20 pounds is missing from the frame.
